Kitefisher & Enigma, thank you once again for all your help and tips in this regard.  I have been interested in kite fishing for a number of years and even bought some books on building your own fishing kites, but never got around to start it off.  It was actually the threads on Sealine that got me interested again and as you have seen even bought some kites.

I will most probably first try the kites out at one of our local dams here in Pretoria, as I will only be down in Knysna towards the end of November.

Nevermind the staring people,,LOL of which you will get many I am sure,go and try it and acqaint yourself with the workings of the taxi set-up before-hand .You know ,if there is one thing that has always bugged me it is the amount of anglers on this forum and in general, who either had a father or an uncle or a family friend who practised this discipline years ago,yet very few people have persued it. I think now is the time for kitefishing to regain its rightfull place again, even if it is something that one does not do very frequently,it shouldn't be left on the shelf to perish.

The timing may also be great, because of the lapse in time since it has been practised, many new ideas may,and I'm sure will come to the fore.

Eddie ,first things first :welcomesea:,this is an old post ,but there is no harm in ressurrecting it again,I would suggest however that you do a search under the new Kite-forums .You will find loads of info regarding kites, methods ,tacks etc etc.

Once you've done a bit of reading and have questions unanswered ,,,,fire away.

Cheers,and welcome yet again.
