I agree, ask Neilg. A couple of my friends down here in George regards the purple Onda Ondes as the next best thing since sliced toast. If you troll behind a boat it is very deadly on shad.

I never used the Onde Onde but if what I've been catching on is the same type plug then they're less than half the price or even less. Williamson Gyro.

Why do you guys think that the Purple Onde is so deadly...I have been trying to think of purple bait fish, and I can't. What makes the purple such a good colour?

Honestly I can't give you a definate answer, I have used the purple, clear and the green one, PURPLE GETS MORE HITS BY FAAAAAAAAAAR, guarenteed.

I can tell you THEY WORK, buy one, target Shad and if it doesn't I'll buy it from you (as long as it's purple)

What I can tell you about the Ondas is this

- troll them behind a boat, THEY WILL GET SMASHED (like Fluid says)

- cast them from a boat (close to elf), they will GET SMASHED

- tell the other people on the boat to rather use bait, YOU WILL GET !@$%^ BY THEM

- use them at night, YOU WILL STILL CATCH ELF ON THEM (but less than the bait brigade)

Now for the flipside of that coin

If you are fishing somewhere where you are very high above the water, YOUR SUCCESS RATE WILL NOT BE VERY GOOD. (I have tested this one more than one occasion)

The ONLY time I am outfished when targetting elf by the bait using people is when I'm very high above the water, but drop is back to just above water level and the Onda is king again.

If I was only allowed one lure for PREDATORY FISH I would take the purple Onda EVERY TIME

If I wanted a good allround lure I would take a white bucktail jig with a yellow/khaki tail.

In my mind a onda is alot like a rapala, very good swimming action, but much easier to cast far than the rapala.

And did I say, YOU CAN TROLL THEM ASWELL.

When we go out on the boat the first thing I get asked is ... HOW MANY OF THOSE LURES DO YOU HAVE

Big difference between the Onda and the Gyro.

Gyro should rather be compared to a spoon.

Just give them my address, let them send it straight to me, then you don't have to go through the trouble ! ::S

Hey Guys,

I dont mean to try and get free advertising but we have just launched our Flash Lure by Gummy. It is modelled on the Onda. We are stocking 6 colours and one of them is purple. So no need to fear the fact that the factory cant supply Kingfisher anymore.

They will be available at shops round the country soon. Starting in Durban.

And the prices are good.

Cheers

Hi Guys,

I hope I dont get into to trouble from admin asking this question.

I am looking for tackle shop names around the country so that we can approach them with our new product. Using the yellow pages isnt always current.

Any help with this would mean you could get those purple ones that you have been talking about at a shop near you at a really good price.

To admin: How do I become a sponsor on the site?

Not trying to hijack this thread but in the absense of purple Onde Ondes do you think these would work?.

how does the onde onde stand up in rocky areas - occasionally being bashed on rocks as u reel in?
that's the beauty of it, man it can take punishment.

Mine really looks like it comes out of a warzone, but still swims good and still catches fish.

I know the Spro lures can't take punishment, they chip and break easily, but that is not the cause with the onda, I have used it plenty times around rocks where they get hit against the rocks every single time I take them out the water.

I think most sharks would break a tooth before they break an Onda !!!!! (not that you would be targetting them on it ...

Neil, stop talking k@k, you and I know if you have a rod and your excellar plus in your hand with a purple onda onda at the end and you see a shark, you WILL give it a go. You, purpule onda onda and a daiwa exceller will be brave enough to take on the GW if its presents itself.
