Hi Guys,

Sorry for the long absence, the boys were fishing Mafia and Latham with Charles and Andrew Ellis accompanied by Spyker and Carlos.

You can always plan they way you want, but eventually you have to hand it over to mother nature for her final decision. The wind was pumping 20 knots plus for the entire trip, as luck will have it, it started slowing down on the guys' last day here.

Fishing was not too bad under the circumstances, as fishing under these conditions on jigs and poppers is not ideal.

Eric and Malcolm managed to pull a couple of fish out of their hats for the guys. A few teenage doggies and a couple of nice GT's as well as a nice Grouper by Charles.

Thanks to Neptune for the jigs, the looked great and according to the guys worked well. I will post some separte pictures with the teeth marks! Andrew managed to get one bend 90 Degrees!

The Jigstar rods is right up there with the best, pity some guys will only lend you a rod!! (;), Hahaha) Hope they arrived safely back in CT. Really needed some proper reels to put the Jigstars through the paces! And then obviously a little steam train on the other side of the line!

Off to hunt for dogs tommorrow morning untill Sunday.  Got my Stella 18,000 polished with YGK Jigman 113lbs, still waiting for the Blue Rose. For now it will have to do on a Trevalla XXHD 5.8' rod. Eric popped one Trevella yesterday on the boat when he tested the drag on the Stella, it's a machine!

Herewith a couple of the highlights of the trip.

This time using TINYPICS, sorry for the last (&$&(%^!

Unfortunately not too many pics of the rods in action.

Kiboko - My rods arrived back safe and sound yesterday with Andrew, but unfortunately SAA bust the ceramic ring outta the tip eye on the 350!! Oh well, should be fairly easy to replace that!

Had a brief chat to Charles, Spyker and Andrew, and despite conditions, they all seem to have had an EPIC trip, and Spyker loved the JigStars, as well as Andrew said our jigs outfished everything else 2 and 3:1 !! :)

Mate only two of the pics are showing up unfortunately.... try using www.tinypic.com rather than photobucket if you can....... Andrew made mention of a rather massie grouper which I really would LOVE to see a pic of!!!

Great stuff mate, sorry I couldn't leave the rods with you, but gotta have my Prototypes back!!! HAHAHAHA!
Jigstars should be available by the end of February at the latest..... and perhaps the reels that do them justice too!!

Look forward to seeing the pics!!

Tkei - Rod and reel will be on its way to you shortly mate..... just waiting on the second OJ4000P to clear customs.... but only if you promise to put the hurt on a BIG COPPER for me.... if you gonna go nilly willy with small fish you ain'y getting sh*t!!!! HAHAHAHA!

The Kopper Killers I told you about are just about to be cast, so be patient young fellow, and you'll soon be able to lay claim to a true jigged 30 kilo plus Copper.... and you better shoot a SHYTE load of pics too!!!

Hey that's great hearing about the Jig Star rods being used in SA. Hopefully Kibobo's photos can be seen soon, you sure uploaded a bucketful (scuse the pun). Shame about the tip ring Nepps, easily repaired as you say. Lets hear more about the Jig Star testing.

Yip, ESA guys helped delivering it here (Dar es Salaam)

GT was 52.5kg, was caught at Latham on a bait on the downrigger.

We normally put the downrigger with a bait down on a rod while we are jigging, didn't have much luck on the jigs, a couple of GT's, Jobfish and Rainbow runners.
