Hi Guys,
Sorry for the long absence, the boys were fishing Mafia and Latham with Charles and Andrew Ellis accompanied by Spyker and Carlos.
You can always plan they way you want, but eventually you have to hand it over to mother nature for her final decision. The wind was pumping 20 knots plus for the entire trip, as luck will have it, it started slowing down on the guys' last day here.
Fishing was not too bad under the circumstances, as fishing under these conditions on jigs and poppers is not ideal.
Eric and Malcolm managed to pull a couple of fish out of their hats for the guys. A few teenage doggies and a couple of nice GT's as well as a nice Grouper by Charles.
Thanks to Neptune for the jigs, the looked great and according to the guys worked well. I will post some separte pictures with the teeth marks! Andrew managed to get one bend 90 Degrees!
The Jigstar rods is right up there with the best, pity some guys will only lend you a rod!! (
, Hahaha) Hope they arrived safely back in CT. Really needed some proper reels to put the Jigstars through the paces! And then obviously a little steam train on the other side of the line!
Off to hunt for dogs tommorrow morning untill Sunday. Got my Stella 18,000 polished with YGK Jigman 113lbs, still waiting for the Blue Rose. For now it will have to do on a Trevalla XXHD 5.8' rod. Eric popped one Trevella yesterday on the boat when he tested the drag on the Stella, it's a machine!
Herewith a couple of the highlights of the trip.
This time using TINYPICS, sorry for the last (&$&(%^!
Unfortunately not too many pics of the rods in action.
