We can put a lot of fish on board and have great fishing space. We are a little squashed in the cabin area but you can't fish in the cabin and when the weather is ugly we can hide knowing that it never rains in the cabin.

The motors should be here next week and then it's just some carpeting and wiring up and hopefully on the water beginning of Jan.
We've had the boat for a month and 3 days, so a complete redeck, foam and build has been a huge push to get to spray stage this year.

Honestly I'm sick of resin fumes and sand paper.

But when I fire up those two new 90 Hondas all that will vanish I'm sure.
I'm still trying to find an old style wooden wheel for my steering. The new ones are way way overpriced. Otherwise...

We got no GPs and finders but we got an awesome Ritchie good charts and a radar so that's all we need.
Will buy a good finder next year after the new back to school financial outlay is done in Jan. That always stings with 3 kids. But we happy to run on a compass for a few months.
It's how we did it years ago and will be good for young Junior Bob to run on the charts and compass and learn the true art of navigating and running a coarse.

Wow HT! Talk about the old man and the sea! You're really going back to basics dude!

But, as you say, it'll make your son a fine seaman. I think many boaters would be far up s@#t creek with not even a whiff of a paddle if all their electronics were to go on the blink.

Post some pics of the boat's progress. Sounds like a real labour of love!

The original boat upon purchase. Towed to CT courtesy of one very sick Miles. The guys was as sick as a dog but insisted he get to tow the baby butt home.

Sporting a modified 28ft Cape Craft Cabin built for me by Andy Roper.
Chopped down, sliced and diced by myself, junior and my old man.

New deck, new foam, new fish box, new anchor hatches.
Non skid one the deck (Low grade Silica) and non skid on the gunnels and bow (A Grade Silica).

We kept some of the old timber rails from the gunnel that has major line cuts in it. Sentimental reasons I guess.

And that's where we are. Will post when she comes back with new spray job next week.
Still a few more holes to patch etc but we will be ready to drop off for spraying on Monday14th.

Would'nt it be a laugh if the tuna pulled in at the same time you put her in the water for her first spin? lol

I was passing through your area last Saturday  (silver Izusu) and sneeked a peak at your boat - she sure is gorgeous looking

Thanks jpet.
Next time hoot or throw stones. I'd say ring the doorbell but it never works. I Fix it and then a day later it's broken. I see someone broke the camera cover off.

Thanks though. Not sure if a Butt Cat could ever look pretty but I hope it turns out ok.
We'll have to wait and see.

I must say Chris that bakkie you love so much really does tow well. Comfortable too compared to my Colt that has been very badly abused in it's defence.

Looking really nice mate. She is transformed and is looking better every pic. I think I may have a sextant somewhere for Junior as well....

cant remember the exact price of the storage/seat box , give Kassie at Infanta a ring he will give u the price plus shipping costs, the rod holders you can get from most boat shops, the hydrofoils on the motor i ordered from Cabelas in the states u can view them online.
