Multipliers het darem ook sy voordele bo 'n grinder as dit braid op het.

Wel vir eds het ek nie baie drag nodig nie. Ek kom heel goed oor die weg met my donkiekar met sy supercharger. Soos ek met my gery werk kan ek ook nie bekostig om elke tweede jaar n nuwe grinder te koop nie.

Baie dankie Emile, dit sal interessant wees om ook die spinning version van daai blank in die hande te kry - ja ons plaasjapies en ouballies werk nog maar met die paraffin katrolle wat bo-op die stokke sit - ons pa's het ons kleintyd pakgegee as ons iets wat vir hulle soos pap en poliesman stokke en katrolle lyk, by die galjoenwater waag bring !Ek het al bietjie gespeel met soutwatergrinder en stok, maar sukkel nog om so akkuraat te gooi (veral wat presiese afstand aan betref)met die grinders as met my outydse katrolle.Daar waar ek vir die gallies hengel, hoef jy nie altyd so wyd te gooi nie, maar jy moet KAN RAAKGOOI !Die een spot se naam is hoeka al jare lank "Netjiesgooi" !Moderne gear sal seker awesome werk as jy dit eers gewoond is - in die ou dae voor hulle dit toegemaak het, sou die boys hulle stukkend gelag het vir 'n grinder rig op De Hoop en kyk nou !

Hiya Cuban,

I wanted a light capable rod as a one up to my 12 ft and TN14 combo. I fish braid on this light setup and easily manage a 60-80 m cast.

At the time I was fishing the RASSPL comps where long distance walking was required this combined with the EC winds meant that a long 'heavy' 14 ft rod was not a great option.

I wanted a rod that would give me that extra 30 m on a cast and where I could cast more than a 3 oz weight like on the 12 ft setup. Enigma first shortened the butt section and supplied the 4-5 oz tip. The length was perfect but I opted for the 6-7 oz tip to finish the combo.

I have recently paired the rod with a Penn Fathom and man...what a balance. Next step is to load the Penn with 50 lb braid for the perfect setup.

I'm not a big fan of grinders for surf and scratching setups and these combos are perfect for my fishing style.

Trophy, did you replace the 4-5 oz tip with the 6-7 oz one, or do you use both ? What sinker weight do you prefer with each ? This seems more the type of rod I had in mind as I normally fish the 110H with either SL20SH or Torium 14 and feel that I need something up the scale to the next category, matching my 1530, with the power to handle the crackers, but still light in the hand and rather slimline to possibly replace my 350/3/2-piece.

We build rods per request and per operational Requirement. in otherwords you tell me what you want and or would like and I advise accordingly.

For example I would advise strongly against a 10oz rod weighting 600gr because the walls would be to thin to handle any robust use to be expected with a 10oz rod

I then look to the options available in Blue Marlin, Purglas, St Croix, Composite Development and our own ranges and the provide options and price options and we take it from there.

Last year we built 250 different kinds of rods from a 4' Spinning to a 3 weight fly rod to an Interline Trolling rod to a 15' Carp rod to a 15oz Shark Rod

So there is no single catalogue and a vast amount of the rods are not available off the shelf or to test from someone else.

It's a specialised and personalised rod for you and to do what you want it to do.

Thanks Craig - that says it all - I will try to have a look at some of your rods down here in the Cape just to get a better idea of what is possible and what not and take it from there to finetune my idea of wahat exactly I feel I need. Cheers
