cool. i heard that catching gallies is good after a storm because the mussels etc have been washed off??? is this true??

from what ive been told that sounds correct, the rough water causes all those little pieces of bait to move around in the water hence them feeding in those zones.....

Having a bit more luck today with the damn internet :)

Yes you are correct when you say it is better after a storm sea, but even better just before, as fish sense a storm comming and feed like crazy just before it. If you can wade out a bit onto the rocks, it's very safe and cast about 70-80m in a fair sized sea you should be just right. Watch the sea closely before casting as to see where the best breaking white water is, there where its the strongest is best. Rather take 5 min before casting watching the waves roll in before casting to make sure where you land should be a fish.

I used to use 0.48mm main line with 0.50mm leader, 0.45mm sinker trace and 0.48mm hook trace, which has always served me very well. Dont use a sliding sinker trace, only fixed trace and you should be fine

Happy hunting

cool cool. I have o,45 mainline, that should be fine though... i want to buy myself a speedmaster ASAP and load it with 14,4 kg Double X. Should serve me well... What do you guys mean by a sensetive tip??? something that flexes fast?? i have a small blue marlin 9ft rod which is strong enough and i can cast maximum 70m with it(i got out that cracker on that rod!! haha i thought it was gonna break!), and then I have a 12 ft blue marlin rod that is quite flexible but strong.... Should I use the 12ft with my jigmaster?? usually I use my 9ft rod with my jigmaster for small edibles but for gallies I need to get slightly deeper. so the 12 will be better???

My advice is use the 12ft rod on the pushing tide, when the fish are really going to start coming on the bite. On the low tide when you get get very far forward use the 9ft rod to scratch around. Speedmaster is perfect yes. A sensitive tip just helps you feel the bite of the fish better, so is important as the fish will bite shyly if the water is on the calm side

ok, english haha. Will a jigmaster balance on a 12ft rod??? If i use 13,6g line with a 4oz sinker and a 12ft rod??
It should b ok. If your rod can handle a 5oz sinker it would be better, as you'll be throwing in rough water, so you don't want your sinker drifting all over the show till it gets snagged

If the water is right, and they are biting but they arent taking the bait, should i change the presentation of the bait??? or what??? Look for wilder water??

you can try lifting the rod the gently while they're biting skelm and you might just hook one,as for changing bait presentation...yes,try a bedraggled loose hanging bait with no cotton if possible, they might steal it off immediately,or get hooked!

assuming you've tried different baits, traces, etc, definitely look at another spot with wilder water, otherwise you might just spend the whole day feeding fish!sometimes  the fish are going to win no matter what, that's why catching galjoen is still art.
