great news, thanks for the update Neptune.

seems like the coast was alive on saturday, sunday though did not treat us well, with strong winds the fish just went of the bite, Winkles hotel rocks was productive with the shad, so was Toti, and Isipingo. news that the fish bit also came thro on friday where blue lagoon was busy till late evening and so was isipingo as the shad also bit till late on saturday afternoon. both saturday and sunday the fish stopped biting at about 8am at toti, not sure about the game fish as on sunday morning at toti no one got hooked into game fish, but thats fishing guys either a good day or not, which ever it beats sitting at home.

I know that they netted at margate day before yesterday, but as far as the hotline are concerned the main shoal has moved further south and are now in the agulhas current, so they seem to think it is over :( :(

well huge dissapointment for the shore anglers.the run is over.if you want sards you going to have to head down to the skei!the sards are staying down in that area,my mates went down last week wednesday when the sea was so nice and flat to go diving, and they saw plenty sards plenty whales and plenty dolphins,as well as huge sharks,so when i go down to ntafuff,i might be in for some luck

thanks Reefman for the invitation, the schools have started and my kids are playing rugby on Saturday - I do not miss their games.

The past weekend at St- Lucia/Vidal was nice. Between the kids and me we caught 50 odd shad on Saturday morning at St Lucia. (Kept 12).  Vidal is very quite though. The bay is also shallow. Nothing on slide Saturday evening. Even sardine and Shad fillet came out untouched after dark.

We booked one night at Vidal and paid in advance last week. The oke at the gate refused us entry into the reserve without paying one day's day fees additionally.  (R175.00) This sounds like a lot of crap.  They are also very inefficient at the gate , long queues with very irritated people at the back..  He could not really explain to me what the reason for this is. :headb

any comments from anyone?

Late note: The gate is now falling under the wetlands authorities and not KZN wildlife anymore - privatized in other words - they must make some mula then..

Hi Dries,

We are equally dismayed at the decisions being made by the wetlands group. Golden and Green Rhino cards will no longer be valid for "free entry" at the Vidal gate as of March 2008. Its really sad as I really only bought the card for this purpose as we frequent Vidal a lot.

I miss the old boys like Jerry and Temba. These munkys dnt even greet back....ill bludy slide em next time if they impolite. The old guys used to at least walk along the line, get us to fill in details etc on the register so when we got to the gate, we just collected our slip n away we went.

Another example of "eish we creeeattting joooobssss" is that munky that "mans" the rope just before the fishing cabins.... someone please explain the logic in this if one still hands in your slip at the front gate upon return????

Better still in a recent comp, a buddy had to leave a lil early thus his fishing partner got a lift back with my partner and i.... now if they were so strict why didnt we get questioned about the "extra" passenger as opposed to the 2 adults on that possessed slip?

Ai... I need a Stroh rum!!!!!
