At work, we only use Toyota now. Its the only vehicle that lasts. We are hard on our vehicles. Here is the comparison.

We've used...

Isuzu - Best was 180k km. Engine overhauled once.
Ford - Best 165k km. Engine overhauled twice. (may have been a dud) We sold other vehicles before they got there.
Hyundai - 120k km. Engine overhaul and gearbox failure. Smoked like hell almost all its life. - complete rubbish.
Toyota - 200k km now. They don't smoke, turn over instantly. Gearbox still feels "notchy" Still lots of power.

I have heard some horror stories regarding the Ford Ranger 2,2 litre diesel models. I see that Land Rover does not feature in your list!

LOL - I have mixed feelings about Land Rover. Discovery a pc of Sh1te, Defender flawless. But it had the Rover 3.5 motor.. :doh

Hi guys, went to toyota with the vin number and the vehicle has a full service history. Now on 212k km, must still go for the 210k km service, new tyres done on 1 March 2016. Have been reading on the 4×4 community forum about injectors and clutches left right and centre. No injectors or clutch has been replaced on this vehicle. Please comment on that, must i be happy or sad? Will be taking delivery of the vehicle next weekend in bredasdorp, will probably go search for a gallie or 2 also lol.

1. petrol cap cable
2. spiral
3. smash and grab (front side windows)
4. alternator

Defenition can you please comment. Maybe injector and clutch prices?
