Hi Guys, great site! Nice to be able to chat to fellow anglers.

I live in Cape Town and take every opportunity possible to go fishing, whichever way possible, from the shore, my ski, boat etc etc.....

I work up in Angola so i get to do some awesome fishing up there!

I have been catching some nice kob in Melkbos over the last couple of weeks!

Have a good new years!

Can any of you give me any tips on fishing in Hermanus, in the estury, going up there for a couple of days and want to go out on my ski there

Hi there.

I see you didnt get much reply. Try posting your topic in the general saltwater space. More people watching there.

I want to head out that way the weekend, but Im very unfamilliar with that area. How were your catches. Any tips on where to fish?

Now this is a first for me I think..... Altzheimers....eish!

WELCOMING Two new Family Members! Dunno how to quite do this one.....

Seroiusly Now, Great to have both of you's, hoping to learn from you and to help if I can.

Thanks for the great welcoming and happy new year to all of you!
Had a great festive season and managed to get a bit of fishing done off my ski, landing some nice Kob in Melkbos. Unfortunatly i have now had to return to work, but i am lucky in a way that i work about 180km off the coast of Angola and there is an unbelievable amount of fish out here, and some monstors!
Anyway, i hope that everyone has a great 2008

Pierre...... i would be happy to show you the spots in Melkbos when i am around, the fish is very on/ off, about 3 weeks ago i spent a couple of hours fishing and landed 17 Kob, only 6 were size though and the rest were just under, but i had a great time....... i went to the same spot last week in my little dingy and the conditions were excelent and all we caught was harders...... i will have to wait a few weeks before i give it another bash, for now i will have to put up with plenty of Tuna and Dorados!

Thanks Shark Bait

Other than the work and having to live in a French enviroment it is quite cool. I am on a oil installation and skipper a small workboat, and this place is full up with fish. Landed a couple of Wahoo in the 15 to 20kg class the last couple of days, plenty of Dorado in 10 to 30kg class and loads of tuna, a few other odds and ends too. Got hit by a big Marlin yesterday while trolling, he dropped the hook after about running off 20m of line, i did not have a chance anyway as all i can use here is a handline, would have been fun to play with it for a short while though.

Otherwise, looking forward to getting home in a few weeks to catch some local fish!
