We have two records, one record is for fish caught in official RASSPL competitions held throughout the country. These are published in the RASSPL record book.

The other records are published on the RASSPL web site in the record flip book for fish that are caught both in or out of competitions depending which is bigger. All fish must be released to qualify. If you would like to claim  a record outside competition you need to submit three photos one of you releasing the fish the other of the fish on a weigh mat or or next to the tape measure clearly showing the head and tail of the fish. The other with with you holding the fish with your back to the see and the sun behind the cameraman to get the best quality photo.  You also need to be a RASSPL member and have ordered or be a current  RASSPL member. If you do not have a card you can send in your claim with the membership fee and we will send you a card.If you have any further questions feel free to send me a PM.

Hi guys, been to Trophy's angling den, what a gr8 place prices are good, but for me the best thing is the leka atmosphere at the shop. Lot of interaction between okes and lots of advice been thrown around by the okes that know.
Well done Brett and Adrian::S

It is just less than two weeks to go before the comp and the entry tickets are now available at your local tackle store. I will also be putting out the dates for the rest of the competitions left for the RASSPL year. We will be fishing Nationals in Port Alfred in February.

Eastern Province Raggies will be fishing against the Border Blacktips in November. I will also be making arrangements for this with Nigel. The Border guys seem to think they are going to give EP Raggies a hiding to nothing. For those of you who haven’t already registered please register and those who are not sure please go and check to see if you are registered. It is free to register anglers wanting to join can fill in there details and do so online. Please make sure you read through the latest rules and make sure you bring a camera to photograph your fish. If you have any questions feel free to mail me rasspl@yahoo.com. The new weigh mats are available to order from Trophy's tackle please make sure you order in the next few days so we can process the order. The new RASSPL shirts will also be available to order. I will post a pick of the EP Raggies shirt later.

Cheers

Hi guys,

This RASSPL should be an very interesting one with all the species coming out in the beachview area. That Gallie prize is what make this one epic. I am making a weekend off it and booking myself and the vrou in at the resort. We can have a lekke braai afterwards and maybe some more fishing...lol.

Hope that this RASSPL will be well attended and see some new faces. So far the weather looks good. Lets hope it keeps up this time round.

Some off the PE gang are fishing Wednesday evening at beachview if their is some of you that would like to join. Meeting up at the Trophy tackle den after work and then it's fish on!!!!:fishn

@Dean, do you have an extra poster I can put up at my place? if you can drop it at the TTD I will get it their. Thanks

Hiya Guys,

Just got a sms from Kopstamp...seems he has caught some nice fish at Beachview tonight. Sounds like 2 x Steenies and 1 Cob.

Nice thing about fishing the RASSPL is that...you may still slide baits, you can fish as manybait types as you can, you may use braid backing or mainline and you can even fish two rods!!!

But...what makes it great is that you can catch R5000 worth of winning Galjoen!!

Hope to see all the PE anglers at Beachview on the 30th...fishing looks like it will be great.

Hi guys just a few days left and it seems like we are in for one of our biggest RASSPL comps yet. RAPALA VMC Shimano has agreed to sponsor 5 franchises for the pro leagues and we should see a few of those prizes coming our way in EP over the next few months. Shimano have been a sponsor since the start but now are backing us in a big way. Fin- Nor remains the main sponsor for EP Raggies and Border Black tips and have also given us a major commitment going forward.

RAPALA VMC will receive main branding rights for Boland Bull sharks Western Province Bronzies, Weskus Steenies, Natal Giants and Zulu Diamonds. I will do a swop out for prizes to give them exposure in EP and border as well as Gauteng the same for the other brands. Our main aim is to give the brands as much exposure around the country and grow fishing back to what it was. At the same time educate the anglers about the importance of catch and release fishing for the future of the sport and reward the anglers with big prize pools to get a return on our sport.

Anyway the Beach view to Seaview comp boundaries will be from Seaview swimming pool Maitland’s side to as far as you can walk up Maitland surf from the Maitland’s parking lot. Remember Galjoen smaak the rocks. This would be a good time to bring out the Dyna Bait worms.
Pre comp registration and prize giving will be announced as soon as I confirm with the beach view office. Any questions feel free to ring me on 0833012709

Cheers

Just to make it clear for the guys that don't know the area, it is the old swimming pool that is/was in front of the old HOTEL, Jewel of the Ocean. Correct Dean????

Should now rather name it "Eye Sore for King Neptune".

Hi Chaps

I think we should have the pre registration meeting at the Seaview Spar parking lot.
I can't get hold of the Beachview office to confirm having the registration there. Registration will be from 5:00am to 6:00am tickets are available at your local tackle stores. Please register online at www.rasspl.com and if you are not sure just check to see if you are pre registered. I will have some weigh mats but please pre order if you can I need some indication as to how many to bring. I also have membership cards for 42 anglers that have registerd in the past so give me a ring to check If I have your card. The rules have been updated so please read through the latest rules and make sure you are up to date with any changes. We have also introduced an indemnity form for you to fill in please print one off and bring it with you at registration.
Any questions feel free to mail me rasspl@yahoo.com

Very upset that I'm tied up this weekend. Before the next comp, myself and CT14 are definitely joining RASSPL. Can't believe i've been missing out on the action for so long. WAKE UP!
