Wow I really enjoyed my day fishing on saturday in the beachview/maitlands area, THX to the lekka company of Tucker and Morne  sorry the fish was so busy I forgot to ask you your sealine handle!

Anyways Tucker and I rocked up at Beachview at about 11:am first drove the coast picking out spots and then Tucker spots Morne fishing and the water looks promising so we decide to join him, yes we asked him if it was okay! anyways I'm very anxious to make a chuck and Tucker asks me what bait you going to use ? I say mud prawn and tapeworm! he looks at me funny and says boet you need to use some red bait the fish dont take on the mud prawn and tape worm this side as its not local to that specific error! i say no ways i anit touching that stuff! besides I like to prove that its all about how you present the bait.

Anyways I used those size 2 Katana hooks I got at TTD, Thx Adrian those hooks are lekka and I told you I shoulda enetered the RASSPL!
Shame Morne was fishing since 6:00am with no success, however fromthe second we got there the fish were busy! lotsa blacktail lotsa action! I managed 2 very quickly, sizes of 31 and 29 cm, I lost a bus of what we all reckoned could only have been a cracker! take was hard fight was hard and just before i could lift him to surface i felt chaff...chaff...chaff and twang! got reefed!...

Lost one blacktail in front of me and a few more due to anxious strikes!
Later Morne hits a blacktail of about 27cm and then about an hour before lines up he manages a meneer of a blactail i think it measured 40/42cm? It was big! thats all!

Finally tucker manages a blacktail after sitting vas briefly and still managed to get it out! well done oues we all got fish even if it was blacktail!

Also worth to mention Morne did release the meneer blacktail! awesome effort buddy!

see some pics I took!

Nobody else got anything to report? I thought I saw plenty of cards handed in, left before the presentation as I wanted to catch that cracker that got away!

21 Anglers caught 56 fish 1 shark no rays.
6 Galjoen and only one of them over 1kg shows why I think we sould be putting more fish back. Well done to all the guys that caught fish and won prizes. I will post the full detailed results as soon as I can. Thanks to all the guys that fished.
next comp will be hougham park on the 3 September. Thanks for the Raport Sharkbyte and taking the trouble to join us for the comp in PE.
This is the way to measure your fish well done to Marius Delport on catching the biggest Cracker of 54 cm.

Trophy

Sealiner
Hiya Guys,

My winning catch at the RASSPL was this Steenie!

Man I had to work bloody hard to find this fish, there was a point when I thought a blob may be on the cards! LoL

Guys, what a fantastic comp and that R5,000 winning Galjoen just made the day! Cant wait for the next comp at Hougham Park....3rd September 2011?

I hope that the numbers will continue to grow and we get even a larger number of anglers attending.

@ Dean thanks for making the event a sucess!

I have just finished loading the results under overall EP results sorry it has taken so long but have had a hectic week with work and this has been the first gap I have had to load them. Looks like Mannie is still holding on to top spot but we have had some new comers moving into the top five in one competition so it just shows you can't get to comfy in the top spots. Trophy is moving ever close Mannie you need to start making plans for the next comp on the 3 September. It looks like we will have a Penn Torque up for grabs as first prize so start making your plans to get the week end off.
I have a feeling we are in for a big one with SASAA giving the members the green light to fish. Nationals is in February from the 9 10 and 11 so start booking your accommodation if you think you are in line for the top 30. We have picked up another five sponsors this last week and the prize pool keeps growing as the competition go's on. WP have R25 000 worth of prizes for this coming competition. Border is also fishing this week end so anyone keen to join the Border crowd contact Nigel or pick up a ticket at the registration on the morning. I will be going up to East London so if anyone is keen to join me give me a ring. Let’s go and show the Border boys how it’s done.
