If I could upload a pic, you'd see how practical and the best with the Roland Trolley is it folds up into the boot of the smallest car.

I like ,i like... common knowledge tell me that the more "space" you have the more "unnecessary" stuff you take.Proven by locals, just a rod in hand ,back-pack,small bucket of bait thats it..

My advice: Use ordinary bicycle wheels.

I spend more than R1000 in buying second hand 4wheeler wheels, 4 bearings and a 20mm steel shaft for building the ultimate fish cart. This was a HUGE mistake as I had the trolley for about 1 month before cutting it up and build one from bicycle wheels again.

The wider the wheel= the more the trouble. The principle works on 4x4 but not on fish carts since the width of the wheel pushes against a huge wall of sand which the wheel and the weight create. Thus one has to pull the cart, carry the weight and constantly pull the cart over the wall which only creates a new wall. Excuse my English and my stupid explanation but I did the best I could.

I must also say that I had about 3 carts of which only the bicycle wheels worked.

That’s my opinion.

I agree with you Chris and the bicycle wheels has a nice big circumfirence !

A True story:

A friends uncle and his friend was telling us a story about why they would never use a trolley again.

They were pulling their trolleys on sundays surf, when a little kid came up to see what is going on. The kid told his mum: "Kyk mama hulle lyk net soos perdtjies" LOL

Almost forgot !

Dont pump more than 2 bar ,it puts too much pressure on plastic side wall and it will eventually break ,keep a little soft .
You can buy used bikes for arround R200 to R400 bucks and there you have two very good and very cheap wheels!

how does the wheels perform in soft sand?

The ski positioned equally and is well balanced on the A frame.
The drag to the point was done on hard sand as we had the tide in our favor. The height of the trolley is important as we have to negotiate some rocky areas.Smaller diameter, fatter wheels are really out of the question. However it may prove more difficult in softer sand, as the wheel may well dig in to the sand.
