Hey guys,
Myself and Gustaf went for a session at a place I would not mention. We set of at 05:30 to a place near Gourits. Got there and the seas was big. I was a bit worried at first but I knew some species like it big.
Got to the first spot and first bait in. I get a tap tap and on! Small gallie. Released. Had a few more throws and decided to try anther nice looking spot. Lines in and very quiet. Then Gustaf goes vas. Massive jan briun! Nice! I get a ta tap and vas. And then the circle pulls. Then next cast again. Vas! Skaam haai. Had a few more pulls but it wast amazing and the water was pushing so we decided to try the first spot again as it looked very nice now!!!
Gustaf first took a walk to a smaal hole not far from there. HE managed a kolstert and a skaamie. I made a gooi and immediately I was pulled flat on my 2-4oz BM garrick rod. Vas! Taking line and playing the fish nicely. Next thing a massive bream appears in front of me and then as the wave pulled back it dived under a rock and the hook pulled. #@$%#@^....
Next cast and tap tap and on! Bronze bream. Gustaf joined me and he got interest immediately and he landed a nice 37cm stinky. Then I go vas. Gallie. Released them and Gustaf goes vas. Bronze bream. Then again, bronze bream. Then me! What???? Can this be? Another bronze bream...
Almost every bait that touches the water is fish...
The tide was pushing hard now and with the big seas we decided to head to safer ground. So we moved to go look for shad.
Water was a bit low still but we fished and kept trying. Gustaf got another kolstert and he kept it for bait... Then I saw a perfect little piece of working water and put a pillie on a gamagatsu 9/0 in it. Tap tap and grrrrrr!!!! Fish on!!! Gustaf landed her for me. Beaut of a shad.
Then He gets interest. tap tap tap tap and then vas! 6/0 set and quite a strange fight on a shad trace and bait... To our amazement a massive bronze bream... On Pilchard and a 6/0 hook. Strange is all I can say. We packed up and headed back after what was one of the most enjoyable fishing days I had in a long time!!!
I have mentioned fish here but we caught many. I might have missed some small ones but new years party's does seem to work on a person the same way as tipex works on paper...lol The total was about 15 eds for the session and 2 sharks
Here is eye candy of catches there from this and a previous trip...
