hey guys! just been wondering since i do most of my fishing at night ! is it possible dropsho at night ! has any1 tried it before! thanx guys

well i havent really tried it but i know that it does work but you need some sort of light hitting the water
i remember watchin an episode of esa where they used drop shot at night in the richards bay harbour but there there was light reflecting from all the cranes also they had verry bright camera lights with them so that may be the reason that they had some good results.
one more thing i was wondering if deep sea anglers trool at knight for sword fish etc which i also watched on discovery then why wont drop shot work at night cause the both things work on lure so mabe there might be night lures or something that we could use to help at night.

Yea did some night shift drop shotn at the *shhhh* Yacht club in R/Bay....
Result was a lil rockod and in the pics below, one of 4 Wala. Rockod was on a pearl blue shad and the Wala on a Smelt in Rainbow.
Dark colors like the rainbow smelt work well!!!

I am very new to Drop Shot, but have been fly fishing salt for many years an have had extremely great success fishing into the dark, I am sure that drop shot will be just as succesful, when I fish at night I use a very dark fly, so I am sure if you use a bait fish imitation u will have the same success, targeted fish Springer, Rock Salmon, Kingies etc.

howzit bru, try this, insert a glow stick in the same passage where the hook lies in the lure. i caught some fine blacktail using this method at night.
