I am keen if Sunday weather plays the game... it is only Wednesday after all! So often I get all amped and then in 2 days the forecast changes drastically!

But ya if you guys are keen, I am down for a vetchies mission.

Where would we park our cars? I am not a member anywhere down there.

4.30am is good with me if the weather holds up. As it is getting lighter a lot earlier. Iv Parked at Parkade B at Ushaka before seemed safe but quite a mission with a ski down to the launch and then even worse when you have to walk back up. Iv parked in the north parking by the wet and wild park and seemed safe and a lot easier to get to and from the beach.

4:30 is good for me. i dont mind where we park as long as we get to fish :) you guys can get me on whatsapp: 0610425866 or call me on 0824936467

Guys, park in the free parking lot at the end of Bell Street, that's on the town side of Ushaka. Car guards are used to helping take kayaks off roof racks and are sharp (many surfers hand their car keys to the guys for safekeeping).

And it's an easy carry down to the beach, the waves are sometimes interesting on Addington beach but really, where's the fun in flat seas anyways!

well have i got news for you guys today!!::S

wellafter a nice early night i woke up this morning at about 5:30am... the sun was up already nd for some reasone i woke up so early which is not so normal for me...lol

well any ways i decided that since o was up and it looked like a beautiful day that id check out the weather report... good news was the wind was down^^.. well that was me i shot up like a rocket, grabbed all my stuff and loaded up the ski! i had been waiting for weather like this for so long now so there was no way i was missing out! i know it was a bit late but decided to give it a bash none the less...

well i drove down to the beach and it was like a dream, the weather was sunny and the wind calm. my heart was a flutter! fishing time!!!

Well i pulled the ski off, kitted up and headed down to the water. i could see another paddler out on the water already and a few jet ski's and other boats also out and about. the surf was flat so launching was a dream, bearly a ripple to get out over.
Now out id decided to drop a line but didnt even know where to start, i was so excited to be out on the water my mind was running! i decided to start trawling and headed towards the only other guy out on a ski. followed by a spoon and rapala... i was so excited :D as i got closer to him i greeted him and we started chatting, he had been out for a bit already but no luck yet. he said he was also new to this and had only moved to durban in april and had only been out a few times. but that said his first time out he had landed a 15kg Tuna right here at vetchies. well now i was excited! after a few more exchanges i decided to go for a paddle and see what happens. i must have been paddling around for about 20mins when i suddenly heard a scream of a ratchet as suddenly on of my rods started arching as the line peeled off! my heart was racing! ive only had my ski for a little over a week and its the first time im out on the sea. well and with the biggest smile ever i spun around and grabbed my rod and set the hook!the put back was amazing and as i was fishing with really light tackle on the rod that hooked the fish i was ecstatic after a few minutes of fighting i saw the first sign of the fish, a silver flash as he saw me and took off agai. i was so excited! as i kept fighting i finally got him up to the side of the boat and found my quarry to be a beautiful Snoek! honestly i know nothing about snoek, i had never caught one.... or in that fact never even seen one in my life but i had seen photos so knew what i was in for. i was so excited and now remembering stories id heard fo the tax man was stressing as i brought my fish to the surface. i quickly grabbed him by the tail and whipped him into the hatch! my heart was racing!! i finally had my first fish and i was over the moon! i quickly cut the fish under the gills to bleed him and bent his head back to break his neck.

I then re cast the spoon out and decided to carry on trawling. i was just inline with addington hospital when i caught my snoek. sadly that was it for the day. i kept trawling up and down for a few more hours and eventually at 10am decided to call it a day.

well all in all im happy with my day out, and cant wait to go out again!
