Remember they have Owner hooks in them, which by themselves are damn expensive

and the lead is actually lead coloured titanium (just joking)

In all honesty, I don't even know how much they cost, have never bought them cause I have never seen them in PE.

The local ones work good enough

All lead products that is shipped in is a bit expensive. They are probably the better jigs around though. The owner jigheads are also great and don't get stuck as well, but are also a bit pricey (=/- R50 for 4).

I now make my own, I use half a 2oz Barrel sinker (cut in half), I tie a std bass hook of my choice on the other side and block the sinker with a float stopper. In the end it looks like the arrow jig. It cast well, don't get stuck and catches fish. Try it when you fish rocky areas a lot.

Hi Guys,

All you need is the Berkley Nitro jigs, these jigs are designed to swim slightly nose down as well as to dislodge them selves from rocks, Rob and Wesley also hardly get stuck on the rocks, and the reason for this is Nitro.

WTF!?

Hello Zoemboef,

WTF are you referring to dude, I have read the whole thread, and I can only deduce that you have a comment about price or availability???

If you are looking for jigs, ask the guys at your local tackle dealer to call for stock availability, the retailers don't always restock immediately and I know it can be a pain, but it happens. They also only restock when their budget allows.

As for the price. Well all I can say is, ask for discount!

Hello Van, you are spot on, availability and price.

Maybe you will be able to help me understand the problem better, do you know how the whole Berkley thing fits together?

As a tackle shop, what is the process required to keep Berkley? Do you have these details? such as minimum order and cost of this order, leed time for delivery, availability of stock ordered etc? Who are the suppliers in SA (ezeegold?)?

If I had to guess I would say try a Bass retailer. Someone like "Crows tackle, XFS, Debbie's Hardware," I don't know. Give them a try.

Hi Zboef,

Maybe! What would you like to know?

Hey Van

As much as possible! :)

Ok, hypothetically I am the owner of a tackle shop and want to stock Berkley, I would have to contact the SA supplier. Are there alternatives e.g. direct from Berkley etc and how many suppliers are there in SA?

I have a list of some items i would like to stock, some rods, jigheads, line and lures. This would be picked of a catalogue.

Is there a minimum order? and how much is that?

Lets say I want to top up some stock items, special order for a rod or some new jigheads etc, will i again have to make the initial minimum order or can i just order the stock required?

After placing the order and paying, how long does delivery usually take?

If some of the items I ordered are not in stock do i get the option to exchange it for other items or do i get refunded?

If unavailable items are ordered, how long does it take for these items to become available in the event that n difficult customer is insisting on a specific item?

When a customer returns a defective item or returns an item for repairs or orders a replacement part etc, how long does this take?
