Tuna fish, we get some tuna here but not biggies like in your neck of the woods…at least not frequently.
We get loads of kawakawa, jube jube’s, bonnies and especially skipjack that we mostly use for marlin live or skip baits.
Yellowfin here are mostly football size between 4 to 12 kilos. We get the odd fish around 25 to 30 kg. I have seen fish in excess of 60 kg jumping here, but never caught them. I think we would get much bigger fish if more boats went out wide and deep with konas (as we would catch more Blue Marlin)!!! A boat that tried this a few years ago got two YF of around 55 and 65 kg’s (about 30 miles out).
I have caught 3 dogtooth tuna here trolling rappies, but they were all small. But, I think with more and more guys vertical jigging here we might find bigger one’s soon.

At last, I don't know what is hapening but can't seem to be able to send you the attachments???
Back on the island, start fishing tuesday for 10 straight days and then off to madeira!!!
