Saw a neat one the other day on the beach. Carry a plastic sheet in your tackle box, about 2m X 1m. Dig a hole in the sand, place the plastic sheet in the hole and fill it with enough water for your livies to swim in freely.

for boat fishing, always carry a bolt cutter on the boat, i ahve seen a few hooks through hands, lips etc and most of the boats did not have a bolt cutter on board!!

Left my reel at home once too. Went fishing at Boboyi River mouth. Luckily my friend brought an extra Shimano 40/20. My first cast was an overwind. Second cast Salmon, third cast Salmon, fourth cast Salmon and fifth cast Salmon. Needless to say from that day on I had to ensure that I forgot at least something at home, otherwise we caught nothing.
:hyst::hyst::hyst::hyst: How do you ensure to forget that you have to forget something????

Anchor: I've also seen a BRAND NEW unattached anchor thrown overboard.

Boltcutter: A must when catching snoek. A side cutter won't cut a #10-12 hook when it's lodged in your hand/arm/chest/ear/nose.

Sunscreen: Let your wife/girlfriend/boyfriend/mom apply it before you leave home. It must also be rubbed inside and behind your ears. If you apply it yourself, your hands will contaminate your bait.

Yup, can never have enough cotton. I also carry about three rolls

If you fishing off rocks, attatch a rope to a bucket to lower down to the water to get water safely for washing your hands, defrosting bait, etc

I dont use a bait box. I put my bait in a plastic bag and carry it like that. I only leave once I have finished my bait. Bait boxes get very heavy and bulky if you walking long distances. You can use the plastic bag to put your fish/fillets in too when you go home. Whats more, they cheap

It never hurts to double check you have everything. I once forgot my bait.... I had a long, depressing walk home

Measuring tape, every angler should have one

Nail clipper for clipping tag ends... If you have ever had to bite through 0.80mm mono, you will know to never leave the clippers behind

and most importantly FISHING LICENCE. Make sure its not expired either

Are you talking about bier also?:beer
Yes a lot of beer .
And what about the OB, the Brandy, the Rum, the Gin, the Whisky?
I did not want to over do it in my post :fbash

But yes you need atleas 1 case of beer (24) , 2L OB or tassies , and a bottle of brandy ( preferd 1L ) with coca per day at the water. You can substetute the case of beer with 2 bottles brandy and coca an a 2L OB. Hope this explains it a bit better.

PS. Thats per persone per day ( PPPD )
