I believe in the LENSER had the H7R when it came out and it is good for camping and fresh water fishing.
Had the H14R and a VERY good light batteries last long and is very sharp perfect for rock fishing at night or anything else.

Got myself the H14.2R and at R1500 must say it is allot of money but a VERY good headlamp.
As sharp as the sun itself and the battieries lasts for about a week of proper use.
Don't know how waterproof it is but I dont swim with it on had mine in a couple of rain storms and it is still going strong.

LED LENSER .... nothing else. I had a H7R for a few year and sent it in for repairs 2 months ago as it wasn't working too good. Go t a new H7R2 as a replacement for free!
Life time warranty !

I agree with Sidd. I had the LED Lenser H7R for years and sent it in for repairs and they replaced it for free with a H7.2R. I got dunked twice by waves while using it and sent it in and once again they replaced it for free. I didnt even have to wait 2 weeks before the new one arrived. Well worth the money as it is an awesome product with fantastic aftersales service. Cant go wrong!

For a "cheaply made" + "high markup" headlight the LED Lenser might be ok, but it's rubbish compared to other high end offerings from Spark, Fenix and even the $33 JetBeam's HC20 is far better.

The Spark ST6-460NW is in my opinion the best headlamp money can buy. Btw, a natural white coloured LED lamp is the best choice and never get a cool white. Human eyes can see far better in a natural white colour than in cool white, trust me, I've bought them all and there is only one I use and it's the Spark ST6-460NW. The Sark also comes with a frosted lens that defuse the beam and that is exactly what you want in a headlamp. Headlamps should have a wide, smooth beam and not a focused long beam that can shine 200m far, that's just stupid.

I use the Extreme 1000 by CREE

http://www.extremelights.co.za/product/extreme-1000-headlamp/

Its a very good headlamp for the price.

@Slimy Salamander

That Spark looks really good. Where can one have a look at one? Online?

@Sidd

The awesometools website is... Awesome! Exactly how a website should look!

@Blikkies, yes you will have to check them out online and import one. I don't know about any local dealers selling them. It's really worth all the effort though and if you get one I guarantee you that you will be pleased, if you are not I will buy it from you, haha. (Providing you get the natural white model)

I got 2 x Ledlenser h7r. Great lights but both need repairing.
So I got a Zartek ZA-432.
600 Lumens
R600 from Outdoor warehouse.

This "thing" is a beast!! brighter than Ledlenser!

Can only use it with my eyes closed!!

I agree, the LED Lenser. Their after sales is excellent. They replaced my H7 ....it was already out of warranty. No questions ask. Even arranged to deliver it. After sales service and spares is a must if you fork out big bucks for lights

I love the LED Lense. Had the H7 for a long time before it got stolen. Bought the SEO5 fantastic light just very heavy on batteries. emailed them about the batteries and they have asked me to send it in to have a look at it. so wait to see what happens.

I use my LED lenser to check on my bait boat, 200m away. So not "just stupid" for me.
Some pretty condescending remarks there aimed at many who have found the LED lenser more than good enough, most would say excellent quality.

I insulted no-one on the forum, stop being so sensitive. I was giving my opinion, you on the other hand insulted my communication skills directly, so maybe you should take a lesson from your own book.

English is not my first language so I may not get the message across the way I intend, but you didn't take that into account, did you?

Go and read all my other posts doctor Phill before you make your phycological evaluation, don't base your diagnosis on one post that didn't read the way you would have liked it to.

I never said LED Lenser owners are stupid, I said the headlights that shine 200m far are, because the product is trying to be a headlamp and flashlight all at the same time, but that is beyond the purpose of a everyday headlamp. I'm sure it works for some, but not for me and I'm telling that to the guy that asked the question. He is a big boy and will make his own decisions from the info we gave him and if he didn't like my advice I'm sure he will ignore it and get the product that he feels is best for HIS purposes, not yours or mine.

PS: If I call LED Lenser owners stupid, I would be calling myself stupid as well because I own LED Lenser products as well.

Being in the tackle retail side of things ... just too much "comebacks" on the led leanser range of headlamps.. personally i think PETZL still makes a very good headlamp.
