At this moment i am a beginner angling now for about 6 months. A few months ago i bought the red T-line (.50)(18kg). At this moment i actually don't have money spending on expensive lines like braid or so. 600m went for R56.99 at an Gordons Bay tackle shop and the shop keeper told me that it is becoming a very popular line(actualy i think manufactured in Somerset West if i'm right). It seems a bit vulnerable on the rockys but is great at the surf. Using a 100kg leader also by T-line with it. For me it feels better than the Kingfisher that i've used previously. I also do the knots a bit better. I must say at times i got stuck i need to use excessive power to snap the line. At this stage i am happy with the T-line i am using, but like i said i am just a beginner. Local is always lekka.

From experiance "Goedkoop koop is duur koop" Rather save some extra money and buy some proper line. Maxima,XX, Daiwa Tournament, Suffix etc. They day you hook into that bus of a life time you must have assurance that your line wont part. My 2c

There is nothing wrong with T line,Spyker Kruger only fishes with that line and he gave me some, much better than your imported lines.Excellend knot strength and it cast well.

I have used T-Line as leader line only. Nothing wrong with it! I have not seen main line in the shops in PE, but will be more than willing to give it a try.

Local is LEKKER! Just because it's SOuth African does not not mean its not good!

And Spyker Kreuger seems to be worse than ESA.I pretty much discount every single word he says as he is always pushing whatever brand sponsors him the most.

Make your own desicions about line or listen to someone who doesnt get supplied a certain brand for free.

If you listen to Spyker you are gonna end up fishing with whatever product he has at that point......

Hennie Papenfuss and angling with black fin seem to have the right idea about tackle. At least they give unbiased opinions.

Have been using t line for a bout 6 months now and i swear by it, with spinning you really go through line, i replace line on my sl 30 after 3 outings with my old make of line.
The t line has lasted so far for 5 outings with very little rock abbrasion if any.

Now that i also fish for the odd shark i am using the .55 t line on my saltist and it also seems to handle well in the bricks.

On a whole i like it and am yet to have a failure with it.

I also give unbiased opinions:lol:1 and prefer not to mention names.

Seriously, all of us that get involved in any of these forums must understand that a lot of people have vested interests, and often subtly (or less subtly), promote their products or interests.   It took me some time too understand this when I got involved with foreign fishing forums the first time some years ago.

Unfortunately it is perhaps a necessary evil, as some forums wont exits if it were not for that as this is often what keeps the forums going.

I have not even bothered to pick up who promotes what on this site, but if you go to CA sites you quickly realise that the same people, sometimes with different names, are on all the sites promoting something, some of those are even on Sealine.

Some will even run a product of their sponsor down if it suits the situation..................

Angling has become terribly commercialized.

And on the otherside of the coin if a product importer even critises another product all hell breaks loose.

This is why those of us who actually know anything about equipment keep quiet about it and dont share the info.......

Hi Guys. I'll support Hooch on this aspect. it doesn't mean much for having a R2500. rod. R2500 reel, the best hooks and the cheapest line. line at the end of the day, is the most important thing between you and the fish.
I do feel that XX, suffix, siglon are a bit expensive and did some angling with them.
I have mooved to the Kingfisher Giant abrasion and cannot complain about it. You should make sure that your line is in good shape and have faith in it. when the faith is there, and the knots are working well, youll hardly break the line with your rod. my 20 zim dollars

i use the tline leader and it really is good stuff neve had any problems and the not strength is superb,i find it much better than the kingfisher leader line, the one thing that i have also learnt is that the most expensive product is not always the best one...

sorry guys also on that note when KF giant abrasian came out guys were sceptical about it because it was so cheap, now that suddenly the price has almost doubled it is now suddenly a better line, has the quality improved or now that it is more expensive it is suddenly better, and please i am in no way agains GA it is one of the better lines around.

I bought a reel of T Line, 0.4 mm, at a good price and have used it on my Saltist 30 for edibles.
It is a very nice line that is strong, good knot strength and I am impressed with it. Thicker TLine I can not comment on as I have not used it.
I normally use KFGA as it is the best value for money. I typically change my line 10 times a year.
I would not think twice about buying T Line again. I was told that they had problems when they first came on the market.
The lab. reports are very interesting, I just think that in the tough world of sport where there are so many variables they are just that interesting. The only true test for a fishing line is experience from other anglers. The lab reports for KFGA shows that the line is not as strong as many of the opposition but it has shown in practice to be one of the best value for money lines that you can get in SA. The price does not always determine the quality of a product.
My 2c worth.
