We are fishing Hartebeespoort Dam next weekend, LTB league, but I have never been there, thus don't know where to fish or what fish are currently biting. Any sugestions please......

i will be going to eagle waters soon , can anybody advise the best spots, depth , baits please, just got back in the fishing scene after 8 years.:fishn

Hi Aka,

I was at Harties (Meerhof) the passed weekend and had a very unpleasant trip due to the heavy rains and flash floods we been having flushed a lot of junk into the dam through the storm water drain system. Each time my lines were taken out for a rebait I had take a lot of plastic and grass of my hooks, a lot of the guys were disappointed by this and even leff the dam as early as they got there.

My advise would be to first take a drive and check the water, a lot of hyacinth also washed back into the dam

If you are going, try the following baits, dips:

Pineapple or banana Mielies
SWD with banjo floaties
FX, Perdeby and Banjo dip, 1 of them on your bom

Was at Harties over the weekend, fished off the boat. With all of the rain a lot of crap washed into the water. Guys on the banks had their hands full with the hyacinths, reeds and rubbish that washed into the dam. and the water that pushed up high onto the banks. Fishing (off the boat) was great however. FX on ball and Yellow Activator floats worked well. Also targeted cats with day olds which worked well.
