i miss that dam so much, thats my home town and its the only thing i miss of it, and maybe the garrick in the mouth in sedgefield itself as well.
I remember few years back, there was a ringwork which is "see through" with chartreuse tail, salt and pepper flavour, package in some usa packaging.
That was very successful at its time, caught many of fish there.
Somewhere near the centre of the dam (lol good luck in finding that) there is a small inlet, many of the larger fish has been caught there with crankbaits, big lips deep divers, climbing into the grass there.
I have found my larger ones more to the other side of the dam to the left when you standing on the launch jetty.
Disadvantage of fishing there is that if the wind comes up strong, you going back against the wind - hence spare battery necessary.
Speak to the owner of the fishing shop, he used to run a charter on the lake at some stage, i ran a small one on the lake as a holiday job when i was still in school and knew the dam very well, and he always out fished me, both him and his son. He often share information, sure he will help you out with some "local advice".
Catch some nice ones there, show us how its done
