Gourits River Mouth

Hi all. First post...

I am going down to the Gourits river mouth next month for a week or so and would like any tips / advice from anyone that fishes in that area.

I would really like to have some success dropshotting. I was there last month for a few days and had no luck. I tried using some of the little rubber minnows as well as some of the pro strike lures.

Hi bonobo

Get yourself some leadheads. A slow steady retrieve for the cob in the river and a faster one for garrick.
N.S all the cob there is very close the the rivers edge, almost like fishing for bass
Small toby spoons will give results too. BANG the BOTTOM a lot to entice a strike

Finally some success with the light tackle from the side. I took the rubber stuff off and hooked on a mud prawn. Instant reward!

This one did not go back ... It ended up over some hot coals with lemon butter and spices!
