Ok so myself and burned off made a plan to fish the slip last night no matter what
Now I must say I thought in the wind and huge swell ?
But we got there at about 6 and almost no wind and the point was breaking the big swell nicely

We each brought a mate and once all the baits where in we got to chatting a bit
It wasent long and my rod started bouncing picked up and vas on a frigate
I was busy when I heard wade shout looked left and he's also vas
Double up and wades first gebe not long and we had them out two smoothies in the 1.5m range
Willies mate later went vas with another after that nada
We had a braai and called it quits

Next time guys
Oh broke my tor 50 cherry and now I have propper shark bait (head liver fillets )

Only one photo sorry about quality

Ja i should have come and fished with you on Friday night but i was at my grandpa's workshop making sinkers and I was into it and thought na let me finish making some sinkers and when I finished I made 84 8oz sinkers. I also thought that there wasnt enough color in the water but sommers comming soon and I'll have over 2 months of holiday to go fishing so there will be plenty of fishing to be done before I finish my 84 sinkers.

Mine are not the same quality as yours Justin but I was making them fast. I used binding wire not sure what thickness but strong enough.I couldn't get the wire because I went their this morning and they were closed. So I have 84 uncompleted sinkers looking like this one.One thing that I will never do again is buy my led from a scrapyard they sell you this stuff and it's covered with this black oil grease shit. I wiped my hands for 20 mins with terps and they are still a little dirty.

Same here they just had a 8oz and 10oz sinker molds but 10 is too heavy for me and you can make more 8s than you can make 10s.The website www.sinkersnmolds.co.za is a ripoff they want R480.00 for a mold, too much.

I learned to cast a KP there on the point (Whale rock at the little car-park just as the road turns to the south) fishing for maasbankers and shad.  Have fond memories of that place and the old blokes that used to fish the mornings there before work.

Started to fish there in 1990, shortly after moving my new wife down from Stutt where I was part of building that dam and tunnel on the Wriggleswade farm on the Kubusie.

For a few years the maasbankers arrived in March/April with the second strong westerly and hung around for the winter.  They would take small spoons fished slowly with a rise and drop retrieve.   I found them because I could not do anything else with a KP in those early days of learning how to spin down on the reel.   Soft mouths, very easily torn and needed the soft treatment that only a KP can give to get them out.  They would run consistently to about a kg.  The shad wanted it faster, and preferably with bait.  I also took a couple of small yellowtail there too, plus some really big springer and one occasion (in 5 years!) had a shoal of kob hammering shad against the rocks.

Good to see that

Thats why I didn't come with Justin I just was into the sinker making process and saw the pumping westerly and knew that I am pushing my luck if I go tonight but we can go sometime this coming weekend (23-24th)again if the water has some color in it.I need to get some some experience before I go to Mazzeppa on the 30th.
