Dave any decent edible fish would also have broken that plastic spool .

The new line on the market just have to much stretch to use on these old plastic spool reels.

If he know what he is doing and used at least .50 Maxima line .He would have had a better change to land a fairly decent size Raggie.

Ja i know that non ed fishing you need heavy duty stuff and he simply did not have the correct tackle to tame such a beast.I told him to go and buy a Tor 50 and fill it up with 550m 65lb JB and 250m of 0.6mm ISO big game line.

I went today fishing mainly just to teach my friend a few tips but we didn't get any bites but at lest we had fun.

Okay so Friday night myself and Boepens and Fluke had a mini sealine session but it was kak hey the water doesn't have any color in it after all this westerly thats been blowing lately. I stayed there until about 3am then was off after putting out 2 baits and FLUKE was off very early and that was probably a good choice.Boepens left around 1am i think. We need some more easterly wind to blow for non-eds three solid days and we in for business.
