Gamtoos Fishing at the Big Fish

Hi, Can anyone give me some tips on fishing gamtoos river at the big fish.
Me and my dad are heading out their this weekend for a Camping and fishing weekend. I would appreciate some tips on were to get live bate and some rig setups for cob on live bait.What is the best bait for tigers and steenies? We would be fishing from the side...

Jis PJ, jy kan mullets enige plek voor Big Fish gooi. Daar is mooi Mudprawn ook vir Grunter, en die odd Cobbie sal ook nie verby swem nie.

Die stukkie tuseen die twee groen ablusie blokke is baie gewild onder die manne wat van die kant af vang.

Die maklikste manier om jou livie in die strike zone te hou is om te slide, met kleinerige grab, die gety behoort nie te sterk te wees op die Neap nie.

Wissel die manier af met a gooi mullet wat jy sommer net agter die drop van die bank gooi.

Die stroppe moet jy maar rondspeel mee. Wissel jou lengtes op verskillende stroppe, en sommige gly en ander fixed.

Moet ook nie skaam wees om a lekker groot mullet te gebruik nie!!!!!

This is the trace that i will use i will just change the sinker if using a light setup

Try to use 1/0 circle hooks when going for grunter just hook the prawn threw the tail works well there are also plenty small steenies there great fun on light tackle good luck there and

You dont have to clip the bait got some great cob there using this trace and its funny because this is a trace for the surf

Thanks for all the awsem tips, we were out their this weekend got 1 tiger and had a groot vis on around 9pm saterday nigth, had a mullet out, the thing picked it up and smoked my 20/40 As i set the hook "biggest mistake i made was to kap that thing" My line got snagged on sum thing and got burnt off. still in a bad mood from that experience.
But all and all, it was a lekka weekend, spent some quality time saam my toppi. Gamtoos is one of the best rivers i fished and i am going back their asap, to go get that makoolu cob i lost!!

Since u guys are at big fish, i received a photo and news of a 63kg cob caught there very recently. Any news?

i did't hear anything about a 63kg cob being caught at the big fish, but do have to add, it was my first time their and i do believe that "Big Fish" will produce fish of that size....
