Game reserve with fishing

Hi

Looking a place max 300km from JHB with some game and fishing available, only viewing not hunting. Will be for a long weekend. Does anyone know of anything?

Havent been there is years so this is the best advice I can give.

Other places is Rietvlei also has a game reserve.
And Bloemhof dam sandveld or North west?

Yeah Klaserie is quite a distance from me. Looking for something more private and more up scale than Sandveld, preferably with some big 5 game too. This is where it gets tricky. Even if it is just a small farm dam or so

Id say big 5 is pushing it, unless its a mates game farm or something.

Take the trek to Klaserie!
You are around the corner from the Kruger Park and literally surrounded with game farms and various breeding projects!
Difficult finding a game farm that offers fishing and if it does you will have the usual impalas and blesbokke...
Do yourself the favour and go to klaserie as it is not much further than your 300km mark!

eish thats a bit far for a long weekend...

does not have to be the complete big 5, biffalos and ellies would be fine.

was thinking about Dinokeng Reserve or even Rietvlei chalets

Loskop is not bad good fishing and you can take the daily boat cruise to do some game viewing and the reserve have buffalo and Rhino I have seen

The set up at Loskop is also prime nice chalets, Restaurant hot pool and not too far from Pretoria / Jhb

Just FYI, Borakololo is a very nice reserve. Just be on the lookout for the hippos!

Also, the angler is not allowed in the water.

I was at Mongena Lodge recently which is in the Dinokeng reserve, close to the Carousel.

They have the Big 5 and will take you out on the reserve dam on a boat to chase bass.

Between the 3 of us we caught 10 bass - one small one of about 500g and the others between 1,2kg and 2,25kg. 2 days ago they caught a 4,7kg monster there too.
