AF: from what i heard the worms are not allowed because of over fishing. The fishes love them, especially the females, which then get cooked along with their caviar. Hence the impact on reproduction of the fish population. But what i could not understand is the following. Namibia has a lot of commercial fishing vessels doing their huge share of damage to the fish stocks, and then there are surf fishermen that surely cannot have the same impact as a fishing trawler. Right? But hey, the inspector will not care about all the theories in the world. If you use a worm, even with zero fish in your cool box, you will still pay a fine. I think it is 1000 rand now. The locals still use the worms and don't give a toss, but everyone else with a worm on the hook either has a nail-clipper or a burning cigarette nearby. Just in case =)
