Ek weet nou nie hoe Bloemhof tans is nie maar hier is die stats van die SA's wat nou daar gehou was. AANTAL VIS 4 724 MASSA 6 344.533 kg. Anyway as ek jy was sou ek Sandveld se kant toe gaan. Dit word nie verniet Sandveld genoem nie en ek twyfel of water gras ens jou sal pla. Ek het die dam al redelik vol gesien en dit het toe nie gepla nie.

Hi Lang Gooi, I was at Bloemhof the past weekend (11,12,13 March 2011). Stayed at the chalets on the river and fished at Sandveld during the day.
I am not sure how to give a proper report but will tell you what we encountered last weekend. We got to the Sandveld side around 7am (on Saturday) and set up. All in all there were 18 rods in the water but only 3 of these were active throughout the day. Some of the guys did not catch at all. Whereas myself (first time fisherman) and brother - in - law pulled out about 13 Carp. All above 3kg.
The fishing at the River Chalet we stayed at was definately more interesting. At night, the barbels were stricking at everything we had to offer. Saturday night saw some of the guys catch around 18 - 20 barbels and 1 lonely Carp.
On Sunday we woke up early and fished at the river for the afternoon. This time the Carp seem to be on a run with around 10 fish caught between 10am and 12pm.
Always sad to pack up after such a fantastic weekend

En die water vlak? Ek ken die dam redelik maar weet, weer en die water vlak speel groot rol as dit kom by goeie vangste (oor 3kg en plus) Aan die weer kan ek niks doen nie maar waar om te sit as die dam vol is, gaan mens moet diep gaan(gooi afstande)?waar is die diep gate nou?, dis leker om voorbereid te wees.

Yes it was a river Chalet. Beautiful, Neat and Tidy Place that was booked by the Family.
Sorry for not being much help but I have no idea regarding the water level/Deep Points, etc as have never been there before.

Rampokker.....ek ken self nie verlatenkraal of volstruisbaai nie, maar weet wel dat met die reen die laaste paar dae dit maar 'n riller kan uitdraai alvorens jy nog 'n lyntjie kan ingooi.
Ons is veronderstel om 16/4 by volstruisbaai te proef (skuus, die seuns) maar daar is alternatiewe reelings sou dit dan reen.
Blykbaar vastrap en gooi by die plekke......
Sterkte met die naweek Leon en laat weet hoe dit gegaan het.
