Freediving course

Hey All,

I have been spearing for around 20 years, in fact a smidgen more, and have been in a comfort zone as far as my diving / breathhold goes.  I have a mate who is a super experienced scuba / rebreather diver who wanted to get more serious about freediving so he coaxed me onto Trevor's course.

I have to say that I got way more out of it than I ever expected - it is tough, but a great school for freediving.  If you are looking to push that envelope a little, I can seriously recommend him.  I used to think of anything over 12m as my borderline, and Trevor got me to 25m with ease, and I will attempt 30m neeext weekend, I think.  (And a plus 3 minute static in tricky circumstances along the way too!)

Happy diving, hope to see more folk back on here as the site settles again!

Tony

Hey guys,

We're looking for 2 or 3 more people in PE for a course by Trevor Hutton.

If anyone is interested please let me know.

Thanks,

Hi Moggy!

Yebo, started the diving thing again about a year ago. Love it more now than before.

It's just a bit of an adaption having been fishing and releasing all our fish, now sticking a spear through them and having to take them home!

Trevor runs these courses for R 3650-00. If we could get enough people (4) he is willing to come this way. Saves us the traveling and accommodation.

When last did you jump in the water?

Buggered up my foot, going out of the mouth.

The last one got me and I had to punch it, but very impressed with the way the boat handled it.

It was big enough to steal my cap off my head.

No diving for a while

I have also not been in the water the last 3 weeks due to work commitments! I'm hoping it will quite down in a few days time, just enough for a afternoon dive.

Some good fish has been coming out recently.

I don't have the funds to do the course.

If you guys need a boat to try to dive deeper, I have one.

I have Umberto Pelizzari's freediving manual at home.

Zane, please PM your contact details so we can try and get Trevor here asap. Winter brings cleaner water for us in PE and we could use that as good training grounds.

Thanks for the offer on the boat, Moggy. When the time comes I'll definitely be pressing on your button. Would you be interested in doing a course like this? I'm just thinking that maybe your boat & time & effort involved would be worth the money to the rest. We'll have to charter anyway.

Although with your diving ability.....I'm hoping to be half as good as you once I'm done with the course!

Hi Zane

hows the diving in PE, i will hopefully be coming up soon on buisiness and perhaps we can hook up properly this time. I have done the course with Trevor and would highly recomend it. You will be taken out of your comfort zone and shown new levels on both breathhold and depth that you didnt feel possible before. Really enjoyed it. Well worth the money.

When doing my deep dives i experiened sinus issues again and ended up going to an e+t recomended by trevor, after a scan it turns out i have a bone growth partially blocking  one of my frontal sinusus which somtimes causes equalizing issues depending on conjestion. I am due for an operation in two weeks so i am happy that it is a such a precise problem and looking foward to it being sorted once and for all.Nothing wose than the disapointment of sinus squeeze on a well planned dive trip.

Cheers

Hi Ants

When in PE let me know - we need to go get a decent cracker, baardman, leery or at least something for the coals.  I will make time - just need advance warning.

Good luck with the op.  I may need the same magic doc.

Hi Guys

Just a quick point, the advanced free diver course which
Tony and Ant did with me is R2950, not R3650 as stated above.

It is an intensive course with lectures, pool sessions, shallow and deep diving modules. If any of you have any questions about the course, please email me on freediving@trevorhutton.co.za or call 082 33 44 841

I am very keen to come and do some diving in the PE area, I received most of my professional training at the beginning of my diving career there and loved it, but i've never been back. The time has come the walrus said......

I have another interested party who'll be glad to hear about the new price.

I'll make a few phone calls during the day tommorrow, but it looks like we have 5 people in and around PE already.

Will keep everyone updated

Hi Guys,

I apologise for stating the incorrect amount for the course.

The amount I was quoted is in fact R 2950-00 as per Ocean Logic's posting.

After posting last night started doubting myself and rechecked my emails this morning at work. I don't know where I got R 3650 from???:?

Sorry Ocean Logic.:cry1
