Hi guys

I sure most of you have heard of the 80/20 principle in life...I have always believed in it and was suprised to see it work on the SEaline Forum posts....it shows that about 20 percent of the members make 80 percent of the contribution.

It would nice to see the bottom contibution levels start to increase because by increasing the levels of contibution the forum turns where 80 percent of the members make the majority of the contibution.

Anyway if those prizes are for real then i want my tickets seeing as i am still in the lead.Oh! and 1 liners dont count as posters too....

Can you re do the stats and leave out all the one line comments and see how many actuall comments have been made of a topic not just an "I agree" comment or any other one liners, as we can all sit and enter the 500 + league in a matter of a few weeks or less.

I fully support that, If You don't mind, Going through top posting members, and sort out the one liner posts and then see, who has the most posts ito valuable contributions on topics and in helping other members new and old that needs info.

It's all cool to have a high score ito the number of posts but what do that number of posts mean to the rest of sealine and it's purpose?

Would be interesting to see what the actual/real stats would be!

While i fully support what Jace is doing i also feel that i need to sugest something else.We have to take into consideration that when someone first logs in they usually feel a little nervous and thus it take them some time to ajust to the workings of the forum and also it wil take a few longer to feel comfortable in posting valuable reamarks.So we have to be considerate of this.

Also i think this needs to be said and that is we as a family here on SEALINE need to be considerate to peolpes needs in saying this i mean that if people ask questions then we need to be able to respect theor need for knowledge and not catorgarise their curiosity.What i mean is that we can't say any questions are stupid or not.We have to be able to awnser anything considering that there are a number of inexperienced anglers on our site who need help and advise.This is what the SEALINE family is about.

Just my thoughts.........

Riymos is correct, and yes, it shouldn't be about getting the biggest score in terms number of posts, it should be about contributing valueable info to this forum, and yes the stats thing JACE's doing is fun and appreciated, but again I don't for one reply just to get brownie points for most posts posted, I post a post because I've got something to say and info to share, (well most of the time).

Anyhow, lets not lose focus as to what this place means in essence, A VALUABLE SOURCE OF AGNLING INFO FOR ALL DISCIPLINES updated BY A BUNCH OF FAMILY MEMBERS in a fun and respectful manner, where every NEW FAMILY MEMBER is made to feel like they belong STRAIGHT AWAY.

So what I'm saying is that lets not mix the fun side of the stats ito postings with the valuable info that makes SEALINE, well, Sealine, to such an extent that we lose focus on what it is that we came to love and cannot do without here at Sealine, VALUEABLE INFORMATION.
