World RHINO DAY is on 22 September - it's aim is to raise awareness about one of the most endangered animals on our planet - the White and Black Rhino - attacked by poachers under the false perception that its horns have medicinal properties.

As they saying goes, knowledge is power, take a look at the infographic put together by TravelNation.co.za for snap overview of this animal's plight and then check out one of these events on the day to get involved. Don't forget to share it with your friends to raise awareness.

- Join Project Rhino KZN and Kinglsey Holgate at the Boardwalk Shopping Centre, where more than 5,000 pieces of rhino art created by children in South Africa, Mozambique, and Swaziland will be on display!

- Goldfields Mall in Welkom is giving customers the opportunity to clad their rhino sculpture “Mapompana” (the Short Fat One) in R10 notes on Saturday 21 September in aid of Anti Poaching.

- “Paint-a-thon” at Greenwhich College in Johannesburg. Student volunteers are giving up their Saturday night to paint pictures of rhinos. The emphasis is to paint at night in order to also raise awareness that this is when the rhinos are most vulnerable.

- Send a tweet with using #iamforrhinos to help the World Wildlife Fund reach a million tweets.

- Get hold of a Save the Rhinos bracelet to help this organisation with its conservation of the endangered rhinos in Africa and Asia.
