Is this not nice...we have nearly 4o guys for a fishing weekend..80 baits in the water i am sure we will have a winner this time.

With the support in the last few weeks it looks like SEALINE is in High gear..we need to keep the momentum up and not loose speed. I thing with the input at the moment I feel that we can really become a force in the fishing world.::H

Hi guys

Just a piece of advice wrt the fishing times. I really don't think it will do us any good starting from 12 midday to 6. Especially if it's going to be hot, we are just going to roast in the sun and get tired. It's not the ideal time to fish as has been proven in the past. I would suggest say either 4pm to 10pm or 5pm to 11pm. As for Sunday, since we going to be staying practically on the beach, we should start before sunrise at around 5:30am to 8:30am. This way we give ourselves a chance to target the early morning predators. I know we will talk about it when we meet but it's nice just to get a feel for what the other guys might think.

 

PS.: Nothing should stop anyone from fishing before the competition starts but their lines must be out the water at least an hour before the start of the comp.

Hi Syko

You have valid points there. However Tugela produces great salmon catches during the night. Thats why we went for the 9pm till Sunday 12 session.

Further more, we opened the times to a much longer period. As most of the guys are coming along to fish. I personally am going to be fishing full force that weekend. If the guys want to go sleep a bit they can. Coz the lengthy second session of fishing allows for it.

Sorry, looks like I misunderstood a bit. I didn't realise it was 9pm on Saturday. And I assume it is 12am Sunday morning? If it is, then why don't we just make it 3pm Saturday to 12am Sunday. That's 9 hours of competitive angling. Anyone wanting to take a break in between is welcome to. I just prefer getting the times finalised so that we can prepare accordingly.

This is the times we discussed:

Saturday: 12pm to 6pm. 6 hours of fishing

Then 6pm to 9pm we all eat and relax.

Then we go from Saturday 9pm to Sunday 12pm. The second session is 15hours of fishing.

the guys can sleep and still have enough time to fish.

In total that would be 21 hours of fishing for the weekend

Check out times will be finalised once we are there and will be communicated to the members prior to the start of the comp. It was suggested that we have a social braai between 6 and 9 pm.....gents we gotta eat as well. This time will also be used for the members to interact with each other....and we are also trying to set up some fishing presentaion during that time.....

Howzit guys, i have 3 more prospective fisherman who would like to join in on the action this weekend, is there still any places left, or are these guys out of luck...Please advise asap...Could you also please advise on the status of the accomodation, and when and to who we have to pay the money to...Just wanted to also take this opportunity to thank the ADMIN guys, who i'm sure are working their butts off to make this weekend a success...my hat goes off to u guys...we all owe u guys alot for your initiative and innovation....WELL DONE GUYS...Hope the fishing gods bless u guys with deserved catches for a lifetime...

It would be nice if we could arrange name tags....if nobody is doing I would volunteer to do it ..I have checked in Makro ..but they have the one with clips..would prefer the ones with the safety pins as the clips ot the lanyard would be a problem for fishermen.

So if anyone knows of a source for the safety pin name tags ..let me know so that i can arrange that is if has not  be done yet.

I know you Admin guys have enought on your plate ..we are all here to help

This topic must have generated the most amount of attention since I have been a member..the post has over  2000 views..that itself must be some record.I remember when we initially discussed it at after our last comp fished out , there was some concerns about whether we will make the numbers.

It is becoming apparent that the members "have voted with the rod"

Well done guys and we are all "including Calvin " counting the hours for a fun filled fishing and bonding experience. To all guys we have not met face to face it will nice to put a name to face.
