What a great group of guys and what a trip.
Firstly let me say I have never walked so much in a such a short time on the surf b4 in my live,
When we arrived at vidal on friday we unpacked and headed for the surf, me with my 2 rods, rod stands, safari chiller, headlamps, cool drinks and my tackle bag containing every conceivable fishing requirement incl. about 20 6-8 oz sinkers - big mistake.
The howling wind made the +- 500 m walk from the cabin to the fishing spot seem like a couple of Km's.
I manage to get a wave garrick of about 35 cm but the wind was making fishing unberable so we decided to call it a day. Packed heavy and walking into a howling wind will teach you the folly of your ways. (the next outing my and Jace's tackle consistes of 2 rods 4 sinkers & hooks and bait)
On Saturday I managed to pick up a nice stumpie of about +- 4 kg (pic soon), Watching Volcom baiting, fishing and casting was just as rewarding as catching that stumpie.
During the first 2 days of fishing Jace had blanked, and on Saturday evening Volcom promised to put Jace onto a fish and behold on sunday in 3 casts Jace picked up 2 fish.
Finally to echo the sentiments of Daryl and Master - Reefman you are one of a kind and it was truly an honour to have met you and be in the same company and I am humbled by that experience.
Fishing was not great but the guys were fantastic.
Thanks to Daryl for instigating the trip, Jace for organising the Cabins and Mel for organising the gifts and to everyone else for a great time.
