Hi Fanie stuur my jou kontak details asb

Well done!!

I just hope that report later during the week as an English version for us "dumb foreigners" that don't know Afrikaans :)

P.S. - Glad to hear everyone arrived safely home.

Lyk my dit gaan nog 'n rukkie wees voor daai raport verskyn. Die kinders soek nog smaarties in die lang gras en die twede ding wat jy doen is jy sit jou kit neer :-D

Fedu, don't be over anxious to hear the translation. Just the very first centence alone translated says 'Men we are dirty, but safe back by the house' which basically boils down to only one thing, Oom Simen never had soap on the list :-D

I have seen it all now. Spend R10.000.00 and drive 5000+ km to go and catch a flippen flatty.

Sailfish, don't feel disappointed too soon... There are bound to be some shad - nice ones - brought out. Haven't seen a blue shad in a long long time. In SA that 'plop' sound you hear is when you pluck that little milk shad off it's mommy's tee-tee. That's not shad, a shad should be around a meter or so long.

Those rays become massive...

@ Hannes101, lyk darrem ten minste of die dam vol was ! So vol daar was nie eers branders nie. Dit maak die visvang darrem baie makliker.

Hi Guys and Girls

As indicated by Hannes, some of have returned from Angola after one hectic extreme fishing experience. Simen asked me to submit an official report on Sealine, while I expect all the others will in any event submit their own experiences on the forum. I understand that Simen will create a new thread for all the report-backs and photo's, so please be patient. Some of us are married and needed to give our undevided attention to our spouses/families since our return last night (21:00, Saturday, 24 July 2010) and this is the first opportunity I've had to get onto the internet. (Tannie Kaspaas is taking her Sunday afternoon nap.. he he) .... Not like Hannes who doesn't have any current commitments.... he he.

As far as I know Simen and Spyker and Co are only returning from Angola today or Monday, as they only arrived there a week after the rest of us. So we will have to wait a while for Mev Spyker to return and place all her photo's taken during the expedition. In the meantime I can report that the largest edible fish taken during our stay was a 16,7 kg Cob (caught by yours truly) while Hannes' flattie was the largest non-edible fish caught. Several other Cobs of between 8 to 10 kg's were taken (Simen apparently got one of 14kg) while the largest Leerie was in the vicinity of 12kg's. A number of young Bronzies were also caught but we mostly targeted Shad, Leeries and Cob with spinners, plugs and poppers. My own Cobs of 16,7 and 8,5 kg's were, however, caught on chokka, the most beautiful white fresh local chokka I have seen!!

Anyway, I still have to compile my report. Only started unpacking my dirty laundry to be washed and dumped my wetsuit in a bath of fresh water to soak out two weeks' fish and grime. Haven't even had an opportunity to unpack my tackle or download my photo's.... and (sigh) read through all my work related e-mails....

So please watch this space.

Hope to see the Cape Town guys at Tuesday's SSEC:WC AGM meeting.
