I went up to joburg, floated around for 5 days and decided to come home, what get me is the fact that the lodge know that the embassy require a proper letter, but they send a crappy 6k/bit thing. This 5 day exercise cost me a arm and a leg and i am still with no rod in my hand.

At least there is a other group going up in august, and i was invited to join them,so would just have to wait another 3 weeks....ai..ai.

Jammer om van julle probleme te hoor, dit is voorwaar n teleurstelling in n tyd van moderne tegnologie om nog steeds met die tipe rondslomp opgeskeep te sit. STERKTE.

Allway problems with VISA and for everyone that comes for the first time it takes even longer to issue.

I allways advise friends to ask for it at least a month before to try have some time for dealing with eventual problems.

I think there might be also an "undeclared" VISA war between SA and Angola embassys, because for Angolans VISA to SA also takes way more time than to other nationalities and it's been like that for years now...

I would have thought that Angola would recognise the value of inbound tourism, the same way Namibia and Botswana do, but then again they probably reckon that a few fisherman in the barren south of the country, far away from the cities/towns....do not contribute too much dollars locally??

Not really at least not today.

VISA must change to allow Tourism but rememmber 99% of SA people in Angola are working and not traveling around.

I think Namibians are the only ones that don't need a VISA to get in Angola.

Legislation has been changing and that when finished will probably have some positive effect.

SA gov. allready offered to drop the visa req to SA if in exchange Angola would do the same, but Angolan gov. thinks it's not the time yet.

What will happen in the next few years is that eventually visa will get easier to get.

I think Angola is waiting to develop it's industry a bit more before opening up, they are afraid that if they open the door too much, we, private companies, will hire even more foreign people to work with us....

Has an example a friend of mine has a farm south of the country and we were talking about geting someone to manage it more professionally, we both agreed that first option would be to hire someone from Brazil or South Africa.....

At last some good news.
Where are you Carlos?
Will they drive through the night or sleep along the road.
Please ask them to drive carefully and sleep when tired.

Hi almal.
