Good bunch of Mal Guys .





The Day's drive had finally begun to work on me a Little , and running aorund on the bricks  like a youngster Was beginning to wear Me Down a little .The 9 footer Kept Me busy , but all the while I'm Minding the Rods . I'd brought 4 Reels with - Complete Overkill considering One rod was already so busy . I won't make the Same Mistake Next time .

I Stuck out Bait No 4 - a decent Head , and figured My chances Of going Flat Now amongst This Lot , surely- were closer to zero than what 1 was .

 i don't have to tell you what happened next Though ,Do i ,  eh ?   Not a word Of a Lie - I'm standing There in disbelief as i Watch a GOen Dusky takes off , and proceeds To put  Me Over it's knee and spank Me 2x Twice .Everything around Me is a blurr - it even Drowned out Kent's continuous ribbing of  us Sharkies , and i Prepared the Vaseline so long as whatever it was Bailed in a long , wide arc and headed for port alfred again .   Pictures lie . i was nowehere Near to Stopping it .

 

And Of Course- Lets Not forget The Coaching session from young LebWalker to My right . ... Lololololol!!! flippin El Chopp !

Great Report Def, and those toothies really handed you a damn good hiding!!
Great to see a bunch of guys getting together and having a good old "bash", and despite all that often gets said about Sealine it was Sealine that brought the trendies together _seal1_

The Fish swims away strongly  And makes for open Water .

In Truth , i should've  Tried locking The Drag ,but green fish are the same as No fish , because when bringing the Fish in too Early , it usually ends in disaster anyways , and I've had That happen to me before Off Maphuzi , with obvious results .

This One though was a Back-breaker . I leaned Into  it - And nothing happened .

The Line Went  toight like a toiger and The fight was On . i Tried in vain to find higher Ground , as the previous fish all went into the Reef to the right , and tried Making a Desperate Dash to find a highpoint . i Was alaready into the braid - turned round , and Walked back to My fighting chair . Talk about sitting duck . AI .5 Minutes Later , and barely hangin on for what it was worth, the fish simply Kept on heading round the point , and It was Over Kadovers . 

I Don't know how to describe what and how i felt by this time .   What point was ther eIn making simply perfect traces , with some of The best circles i had Managed to find , 210 pound steel - all according to Plan . And in the end i should simply have Tried it - Turning up the Drag and waiting for One of Two Things: fish turns or line pops . Kla . eyyyyyyy man . I'd just about Had Enough .



This was Both an Excellent day , and not a good Day , for fishing .

 Persistence , they say , is supposed to pay off .

 guy's I'm sorry this has taken so long but honestly there's something wrong with photo bucket - i can't seem to retrieve the Link to insert The images - Bloody frustrating .

The sun began to Set and i reckoned i was Done for The Day . Nothing could possibly , possibly , still be hungry Out there , and if it was , the blacktail seemed like a better prospect Than a piece of old shark .Surely .

 

well , just to rub it In and give Me a  big welcome to the Visitors, we must've waited another hour some-odd , when lo And behold out of all the rods Out , my rod went down Again .

 

Leonards was in No Mood for playing.

No jumping could've Meant Grey , and We Reckon it to be so  ,and it ran in the right direction so strong that i  Let Out a Loud "yeehhaaw".

It was heading in the direction of Kidds beach - huge Relief ...

 I reckon The line was Knicked somewhere and before i Could Even tighten up she Let go .

 In all My years of sliding : this day, June 7th , will go down as being THE day , of hidings. 4 of em were absolute Stinkers.

a Crushing Victory for the local Fish . Never In My life , have i experience such blistering runs , that start off and Look as Though you Might've hooked a Straggling Barbel , or a Gully shark , Only to turn Tail and step on the Gas While Changing direction , and peel Line off My trini As if the Reel Were in free spool .

Mentally i Was Defeated , and Exhausted .

 Fishing suddenly Sucked .

I Still can't get Over That final score chaps .......

Onto The people.

 We had  bevid . his Mind is so Fast sometimes that i believe It speaks for itself .

Kent -   Only man i Know who wears Pyjamas at Night , On the Beach . A Frightening Sight if ever There wuz One ...

Sheldon - Bronze Bream Knocker . i don't have a pic of his fish but it was a Nice size blaar .   Modest as anything .   Thankfully being The angel I am i Steered clear of The Serious " Braaiing " Going on just above where we Were Standing ....... Frankly it began at 8 Pm to look like a bushcourt !!
 ROndney - helluva Nice guy , and Pretty decent considering he's family Of bevid ......

Delme Higgs , whom I Know for a Number of years , yet had never had the pleasure of Meeting yet .
Willie Katot Asks Byron to go and look for Fresh bait , but byron's body can no longer Maintain The Pace his arm or Whatever is Setting , and he retires From the show , in Style , a bit early .

Which left  him with me , to go and help him find the wonderBaits .

THis unspoilt coastline is in literally Pristine condition , and The cockels found There are Simply- Enormous ! i found One , that , for the first Time in a Long Time , Would EASILY cover a coke Can .

I wanted to Keep just a single  One for a Cracker The Following Morning . Katot would hear none Of it , and Proceeded to deliver The finest seafood for The Pe boys , and to Keep Kent's Mouf and hands busy , we thought he Might like One too .

The Braai Was On solid , the Brandy on form , the Weather holding . more than i can say for my Line earlier the Day , anyway .

  Of also Mention , would be The biggest, Meanest Sea urchin I Have EVER seen in my life  - The shell ALONE on that thing was bigger than  Most People's Brains - Easily The size Of a Clenched Fist . Frikkin Huge !!

The Tents Were Knocked up , and at a scrawny 8 Pm i decided I'd had enough . Walked around in the Fakcin Dark with willie almost halfway to riet rivier because he kept forgetting where he'd Left the hole he Was Looking for :fswim:doh:doh((wideeye))  ..

I never even wet a line . The water was freezing , and rather unpleasent  .

Got back to Camp David , and Justin challenged someone to a "bet . " I Cannot repeat The underpinnings TO the bet , but all i Can say is be careful when you bet against a Trendy !!!

 The bet basically entailed That certain people would have to do Something if Justin Should come back with an Occy .

 Not to be Outdone On his hometurf , he Disappeared off Onto the bricks , While Delme and Kent fed Me dop to keep Me straight up , Warm , And Entertained . We'd Not brought Our refreshmetns with us but that's Never a problem amongst the Trendy's .

The Braai That evenin Was almsot as epic as The following Nights one ..

Savage you Know , I cannot for obvious reasons even begin to try and convey the atmosphere Around that Fireplace that evening . It was a mixed brood Of Party animals and serious anglers . Boepens , whom I'd been wanting to fish with for ages , stayed up as Late as the temperature Would allow , and fished in the hopes of getting a Pick up .

The Area itself Lends itself to hidings , and in Retrospect , I Should have , after so many canings , have tried to tighten the Drsag to virtuasl Lockdown , and try stop those fish in their tracks .

And yet , In spite of those hidings - because they all fought so damn hard , I have no regrets of Driving so Far to simply get My Backside wiped by 5 sharks .
I'd sooner have had that scenario , copared to One where you drive all that way , and don't get any pick-ups at all .

People need to Learn that no Matter how well the Reports are written , That events sch as these truly Need to be experienced first hand , it simply isn't possible to experience something Like this , as hard as I try to let the internet collide with reality .


Can't Really smell the Braai in the pic can you?!? Friday's Braai .750 Ml Of Brandy consumed for every 500g of Meat ............... Bwhahaahah.


Glad you enjoyed it . I'll complete the Report as I have time . fridasy Alone took Me almost 4 hours to complete due to photo bucket , and whereas I used to Write from home , I Now have to sit in a controlled office environment , and try focus on work as Well as what happened 2 weeks prior ..
