Jeeslike, easter has come and gone and yet no update???

Yip been busy, trying and trying.
Not much on the front, apart from some aspects.

We managed to do a trip in early April 2022.
it was only a boat fishing trip, which included 3x launches before the weather turned sour.

3x hard days of fishing, healed only 2x fish.
both being darts, 1x on spoon and the other on a dead sard.

water was quite cold.
starting at 25,6 degrees, it dropped down to 24,3 degrees.
the last day, was a day for boat riding.
nothing happening apart from a dropped dorry in 8 meters of water.
the water did heat up again to 25,5 degrees before the west set in.

the st lucia mouth breached its own banks on the 14th April 2022 due to heavy rain in the area.
Bad floods did cause havoc in the natal region with some loss of life.

the mouth is open and it should stay open for some time.
this will mean that a very good winter fishing season might be upon us.

it must be noted that plugs are still present in the system.
the narrows up north and the sugar cane farms towards matubatuba.
a short video of the mouth updated 18 april 2022.

Time for another update??

another trip done and dusted.
with mixed success, yet we still learned a lot.

We had a quick boat trip which consisted of 3x boat launches.

the first day, was great.
The snoek were very happy to ride in our boat.
we managed to land 10 snoek, and they were all lekker big size.

the two remaining days we did still manage to boat some fish

here is a surf launch video, the go pro does not show the size of the wave, but your eyes do!!!

day two had a snoek and cuta riding along and on the 3rd day, we managed to get a small dart cuda.

Just a quick update.

some salmon have been caught.
Shad are present at times.
some grunter have been caught as well.
so we are looking forward to better catches this season.

Seems like water flow from the estuary is still good with the salt water struggling to get into the estuary.
With all the good signs, we might have a cracker of a season this coming winter.
stay tuned.

Nothing new, except that the season is slowing starting to come together.
Shad and salmon are on the bite with grunters and perch in between.
