So what brings us all to st lucia?
is it the fishing we all love?
is it the accommodation?
is it the weather?
is it the wild life?

all i know is that we keep on going back for more of the potent stuff.

family time is top of the list why we would visit st lucia

we did open our account on the first afternoon!
this small kobbie decided he wanted to take on a live shad.
we had him for dinner with some shad.

due to greener water the writer fished with sardine to get shad.

The rugby between wales and south africa did not prevent anglers from trying for fish.

these anglers were lucky, they got some shad and 3x kobbies.
while we were watching the springboks play

on sunday morning a sealiner managed to land this big salmon at ingwe beach.
the fish was caught on a live shad.
the weight is around 18 to 22kg "guess", it was well fed and looked good.
well done to the angler.
these big kobs should go back, bit the angler is within his rights to keep it.

last night this shark was caught on a live shad at st lucia.
sharks have been plenty around, taking live baits often.

we have some creative people in south africa.
sand art is a big attraction and a artist is getting his foot in the door.

we did get our quota on shad.
it was great to eat some fresh fish again.

so another salmon was landed last night at st lucia.
not massive, but it does show what the open mouth causes to fishing conditions.

Anglers are flocking in numbers to st lucia, to share in the bounty, Nature has to offer.
Its been years since we had such a shad run.
From the mouth area, right through up to first rocks.
Its just shad, shad, shad.
Accommodation are being filled up quickly.
The town is alive, like the old days.
So make sure you get in on the action.

Just another update for the anglers.

Reports are still that the shad is a menace!
Every throw ends up in a shad.
Guests have reported that they managed 2x snoek from the surf near ingwe.
Plenty of shad, to such a extent that it became a catch and release exercise.
The one angler dropped a bigger size garrick in the shore break.
It also seems that sharks are still around.

Weather for today is still ok, tomorrow is not that fishable for bigger gamefish due to a possible side wash current.
