Fishing on Wednesday

hi all, went to pearly beach for the public holiday on wednesday, left at 2 am back at 1130pm. when we arrived we thought we had wasted our time, sea was flat and crystal clean. suprisingly my mate got a 3kg kob on the first cast, but nothing else. round about lunch time at a new spot, we also got another 3kg kob on the first cast. then nothing for hours. at about 5 pm just as we were getting ready to leave, we got a call to say there were kob 25km away. we did that ride across the beach in 20 minutes, sarel vd merwe would have been proud. for about an hour we went tight. the end score between 5 guys was 14 kob (including 4 around the 8 or 9 kg mark, excluding the little buggers that we threw back), 1 seriously big elf, a nice size bronze bream and a big spotty that got cut off in the kelp. it was crazy fishing, casting over a huge patch of bamboo and then having to bully the fish on top of the water to avoid losing it in the bamboo. hard work, but oh so rewarding. am off to get my new assassin beachmaster this morning...on sunday the fish are going to k@k off.
