I have never had any problems with Safety there and i have gone there a couple of times on my own. Think i will rather stay away

I never been there but what i mean is the dams in and around cities normally arn't very safe mate.

I will be going to my favourite spot again next month when all comosion of spawn is done.

I decided on #99 to take a trip to JHB this past weekend. My boet and I were there on Sunday Morning untill about 14:00.

We blanked as well. :temp:

We fished in the same spot that Elapid and his bud went. Saw some Bass, but they weren't keen on taking the lures, and let me tell you, I used everything in my box!!!

Homestead can be tuff at times but can also deliver some good fish. To get the best out of Homestead you need to use a small boat like LGF's to get to the target spots.

hahahahaha, loams and i whent there last sunday, but unfortunitly we blancked. no fish for us. we did see some bass patroling the shalows but thei just would not take the bait. what lures did you use if i could ask.

Sorry for the late reply, I have been really busy with personal sh1t. havent even had time to wet my line.

As someone said. It is indeed Homestead lake in Benoni. Apparently the bass are still biting like mad there, but on the other side of the dam (not the wall side).

Anyway, once again sorry for the late reply

awesome fish thats homestead dam..as a newbie caught my first decent bass there in mar07...and landed two 1kg basses there in mar08..havent caught a single bass out of any of the benoni dams since then...has any1 else been finding this...would rather go to murray aprk anyday of the week

Yep, stay close to Homestead, haven't seen any bass action there in a while, even with my dingy close to the scout grounds. Dont you think the fuel spil at Blaauwpan has something to do with it as blaaupan feeds some water down to Homestead.

Haven't been to murray park in a while, how is fishing this piece of water, last time got some nice bass from grass patches in dam, also whilst fishing from a dingy.

I don't know. I have seen and heard of some good fish coming out there including a 3kg puppy and I myself got some nice fish there during December
