Bru if you are on a really really tight budget, have a look at the okuma classic 302C (R550). Steeler outcast 302C (R450, get it at Game, same reel as the okuma classic), or penn seaboy 185 (R600). The okuma classic and steeler outcast cast like a dream and wont backlash very easily due to the light graphite spool, but because of the graphite spool, the spool may pop if too much pressure is exerted on it. My choice would be the seaboy for that reason, it has an aluminium spool, and will probably outlast the okuma and steeler put together

The okuma and steeler are the same size as an sl30, not too sure about the seaboy, but I dont think its much bigger.

Or you could buy that penn 49 and have a jol with a piece of history :SSS... wouldnt mind doing that either

Seeing as I'm clearing out my cupboard and you're a Capey, I have a 13ft 2piece medium action Butterworth you're welcome to, the 49 will work on it(Tested my Torium 30 on it so should be fine)

Might need to have eyes touched-up, as you progress
