First lure of 2013

I saw some guys use a lath to drill holes for their wire. i don't have a lath so i used a normal drill and blue wire to drill the blank and then shape around the holes. It has weight at the belly hanger and at the back and it has a wide walk the dog action. its 13 cm long . I'll try to catch a yellow tail on it this season!

i still need to clearcoat it and i must redo the eyes. Will post when im done

its 61 grams with the hooks but i still need a slower curing epoxy for the eyes and till then i cant clear coat it

probably the most realistic stick i have ever seen! could paint one in a shad colour too and Im sure it will hammer the fish up north. did you make the blank yourself? very nice mate.

Serra : i think its 2/o trebles but not sure!

pslatarix : im to broke to be buying blanks so i made all my lures with poplar wood i saw off trees myself and its fun going through the whole process yourself

and thanks all for the positive comments i'll be redoing the eyes today

Wow! from scratch! That's interesting, so I guess you dry the wood first?

i cut the dry branches off . there is a lot of trees that i can go through to get the right piece. Poplar wood is the best wood i have worked with its compact and easy to sand and shape . im sure theres better but its easy to get
