The website was to up and running by the 20.04.07. It will be now in May. Does this sound like a excuse of some sorts?

W 24, this sounds like just more of the delaying tactics and prolems you spoke of on the Outdoorpages website regarding delays, excuses, stories and poor customer service. I'm sorry, despite what Reefman says....this just isn't good enough, in fact it sucks majorly. It was a dead site for 6 months, now the launch is delayed again, who's to say what will happen in the future re other possible delays?

As I said on the "other" site. It is such a pity as they sit with a oppertuinity to do wonders, but they let the basics stuff the work up.

Hell i know it must be really diapointing to have to wait so lond but you have to consider that they are not only a website but a big buisness now..With that said i do understand that they should be up to speed with the goings on but you have to also consider that things take time, and in planning things you are definately going to encour delay's,it's inevitable.

In my opinon i think ESA TV has done wonders for the sport so lets give them time to get their ducks in a row before we start mauling them for a few delays. Please don't bite my head of about this it's just my opinion..lol lol lol

I love sealine anyway lol lol lol it's just that i understand that in life there are no definates and you will always have some sort of dilemar so patience guy's patience.

Hi Guys,

i think that we have a right to moan/complain about services etc.

Can anyone tell me, did they mention the website launch dates on the show?

Hi Guys

However you want to spin the coin ESA is a BUSINESS. THe sponers both on the TV show and Magazine pump a lot of money into this.

Therefore one expects some professionalism from the owners of the franschise. If you commit to the public they you will deliver certain things then you owe them an explanation when you do not.

The ESA website has been dragging for months now...if it is financially not viable then the shareholders need to be told and either drop it or give it to someone else.

Just my 2c worth

Well i do understand that we need to e able to air our problems that we have concerning the dealy of the site it's just that in every organisation they have teething problems. So all i am saying is let's give them a break and hopefully they will deliver the goods.

If not then yeah by all means vent your frustrations,im with you.

A lesson in PR, if you say you gonna do something at the time you have stipulated then you must deliver.

can you imagine how many people are not going to visit this website again? Its going to be lots, becasue people using the web wants stuff to be their, hear of lazy people?

That is what we are lazy so think about the non fishing people who will stay away, because of the wesite not being up and running. If you say you gonna do it then do it.

All this for free, if you have something to tell the people then tell them when you are ready.

ESA, is good, but not that good.

Point taken boet.Have you fowarded your request for a reason behind the delay in the website.

I see this issue runs deep with most people and i dont want to sound like im defending ESA in any way it's just that i alway's think about problems one incures when puting something of that magnitude together.

I understand fully how unhappy people are with the service of ESA ie the delay in delivery of the mag etc..now the delay in the website. My only advise i can give is give them a call or email and then wait and see what they are going to say.

I have just spoken to a buddy of mine and he says that this has been going on for a while now,so in my opinion and i say my opinion,i think that maybe just maybe ESA have juped the gun a little bit.Maybe just maybe they have grown to big to quick and now they can't cope...

What do you think?I don't have any other excuse that i can find for them.Maybe they'll get the message from sealine and respond to all their unhappy clients,Let's wait and see..

Hey I hear you, but that doen't mean that they must broadcast it. it tells me that they are arrogant in saying that things will be done by the time given. In PR terms if you don't have a definite answer for anything that might bite you in the you know what then you SHUT UP!!! I think that they missed the boat.

this is just bad PR/publicity, i don't think they have thought about problems that could and did occur, but as you say they might have been experiencing some problems who knows.

I think they need to get their act together and sort out this mess ASAP!!! not for our sake but for theirs. I hope they fire the agency who done there website.....

anyway, who knows they might even suprise us.::H

LOL@ Darren

Who Knows maybe they should get our Emperor to design their site,he has done wonders for us at sealine, which brings me to the point why do you need an ESA website when you have sealine.I think stick to sealine as a website and watch ESA TV show better that way then we all happy chappies...lol lol

maybe Emperor can shed some light whether Sealine was launched on scheldule or not

It is easy to slap a small website together but I think putting a website together like Sealine took some time and even then after the launch there must have been problems.

Similarly with ESA, and if I was ESA, I would delay the launch of the website if there was bugs in system cause just imagine how some of you are going to complain if the website is there and there are glitches.

Guys come on are wehere to promote and discuss fishing or shoot people down for there efforts

Well Said Rag's

I say lets back them up help them with their teething problems except that they like us are human and make mistakes.Maybe they were a bit hasty in saying that the site will be ready in APRIL but hey as you said what if there were glitches on the site,im sure sites like that take an emense amount of effort and hard work to put together, and im also sure Emperor had a rough time putting sealine together and taking sealine to where it is today,so lets give these blokes at ESA a break and see what they produce in the not to distant future.

No guys, you don't get it do you?

The website will not be for public use, you will have to be a club member to access it's database, with the MINIMUM charge being R58 per month (MAXIMUM FEE R128 p/m), which they are already charging, without having the website up and running! The joining fee for the club is R240!! And the first debit order goes through on May 1st... so woopeee, that entitles me to a free t-shirt, an angling license (which I've got) and a subscription to their mag (which I've got as well). So whats in it for me?? Thank goodness I never joined... I'll rather wait until they get their ducks in a row before wasting anymore money on ESA.

No, no, no... sorry for you - there's no mercy when a good concept like this gets spoilt by greed...

Hi Guys

I almost signed up right in the beginning's! Good thing i didnt...:?

It might just be a case of going to big and to soon...But with no doubt it will be a humbling experience for the ESA team. lets all hope we all learning curve for everybody and things get better, not just the ESA sake but for all the fisherman that learn and benefit from them.

Well said again, Reefman.

To all those guys out there missing the point......one question- How many of you would pay for a car, or DSTV, or a house, or school fees, when you have no car, no decoder, no school, no house? And more importantly....how long would you suffer the excuses of the contractor, and M-Net, and the car dealer, who continually promise and do not deliver?

I would venture that not too many of you would put up with this situation before getting very cross indeed. How is this different from what's happening here?

Guys I signed for the mag, so far I have had to scream at the production house and even had a word with Andre Henn about it. Last month I could buy the mag in the shop before mine arrived. I do not want to swap info between web sites, but this was my comment last month""""""""After waiting for my mag, I just went and bought one - it was quicker. Reading about the new memberships and this and that, I decided to check the web site as the book says. Guess what, the site will only be ready in April, the 20 to quote the site. So all this hype is nothing more than a waste of time. Thank goodness OP still works, or at this stage I would be banging my head against a wall. Who else has tried the so called special offers from ESA. So far I am disappointed in the way this is being run. To me it is all about how much money we can collect and very little about what goes back to the reader/ member. I hope things improve."""""""""""""

I am waiting to see if I get this months mag before the shops do..... I will keep you posted.
