it is ilegal to advetise a prize  for a competition and not already have it ? ...

It is against the LAW !

YOU CAN COMPLAIN AT THE ADVETISING STANDARDS BUREUA OR LAY A CHARGE !

South Aricans are to easy to be suckered into a k@###  exscuse for blatant false advertising...A LIE IS LIE...if you do not have a product to give ...dont advertise it ...not even on a maybe...

they can get into big @#$#%#%  ...they have to give a prize ?..full stop..

maybe they should get a lawyer...

Yeah guys sure the show rocks!but come on where's the promise of the members fishing with the esa team.deep sea fishing in international waters are always fished by the esa director or the guy from lawrance(so where's the guest anglers?) or malambo(spelling) if they fish in natal.rock & surf you never see guest anglers unless they don't wanna show them on tv...
wake up and smell the coffee,esa is run like any other business in SA.all they care about is making money.

But i must admit i do love the presenters,you can't blame them for bad management.

Do you Guys know who pays who ie does MNET pay ESA or Vice Versa for the right to be on TV , If I am not mistaken ESA pays a helluva lot to MNET.To keep that show running on TV costs millions per month.I personally think they are doing OK with the money they make, all the things they do cost a lot more than we will ever know.Yes they have sponsors , but lets be realistic about this.I think the R400K makeover probably involves maybe R50k equipment and R350K experience , I would love to see what R400k can all buy.They dont have that type of money yet.

How they got to that figure nobody knows but them.Would love to see a breakdown.

This is all my opinion and not based on any facts and no animals except a few fish was slightly hurt.

What they can do is increase the r&s side to 30 minutes at least.

I spoke to the guys @ ESA and was told that the monthly make-overs will start from next month. The R200000 is not per month it is for the year. If Im not mistaken a monthly prize is worth between R10k and R20k so the guys must not get their knickers in a knot.If they have any queries contact ESA directly they are always willing to help.

Your oppinion and experience with ESA is noted, and I'm glad for you. It is good to hear that ESA is making an effort.  My last few chats with Andre Henn have been positive, so ja, things could be on the mend. :holding thumbs:

P.S - Mike69 who you directing your "so the guys must not get their knickers in a knot" at?  It's been a rough experience for many people that put a lot of effort and time into ESA.  And if you go back to 2007 and read their promise you will see that it was R400 000!  I know a letter has gone out recently, but that was only because some of us were making the effort to remind the public of this promise.

Note: We are on the second year now anyway(2008/9), what happened to 2007/8?

The cost to air a half an hour program on Super Sport is R5k, yes you read it right - ONLY FIVE THOUSAND RANDS PER SHOW!

There is some profit share scheme attached to this, but according to Andre Henn he is still running at a R500 000.00 loss.  P.S - I would be too if I bought 2 half a million rand bass boats ;)

My Source: A local (Durban) video company doing the filming of the Yamaha RaceTech Triple Series this last weekend.  They do a lot of work for SuperSport.

ESA’s October 2008 Makeover Draw was won by:
ESA MEMBER 0747 : Wayne James, Port Elizabeth.
Selected facet: LBSA
He will receive the following (to the value of R 10 000) and will also accompany the ESA team, as an ESA guest on tour to the next destination on our next production shoot.

Question - How long do you think it will take for this poor person to receive these goods?

2007/2008 - R400 000
