HI All

I have been into Rock and Surf for a while now,but dropshotting seems like something I would like to get into. Do you guys know of any good spots in the cpt area or surrounds ( langebaan, struisbaai, hermanus, etc) where you have tried and had success or would any beach area be a good start? : )

::H also just started with dropshotting tried a coupla places but wit out any success....there is one place that i think will be the perfect spot but i neva had a chance to go there as it is abit risky for the car to go alone (5 huisies or the big parking just after sunbird park)

Hi guys..

I went to KNysna last weekend..tried dropshotting from knysna heads and caught a Wildeperd.. amongst some Blacktails also coming out.

The next day i tried from another rock into a deeper gully where there was a shoal of sardine and got hooked by what looked like a Garrick ( i just saw this silver fairly big fish from the rock i was sitting on). The hook was too small for a proper hook-up buy was definitely heart-stopping action..and the fish broke off.

On the boat my wife tried spinning with her drop shot and landed a 70cm Garrick..fish was released ans it was just under-size.

with light tackle I managed to land a Steenbras and Spotted grunter ..all size!

so i guess Knysna laggon worked well for us in terms of drop -shots.

A mate of mine reckons he has nobbled the Garrick in Wilderness on the 4" Black and White Gulp fluke - might be worth a try.

Hey Leonard

Where are the good spots out that way, Veldrift, Laaiplek etc.

The family has a house at Jacobsbaai which I usually use a base camp to fish Langebaan lagoon.  I have tried Drop shotting Saldahna bay side, (in front of Pedro's) but no real luck. (stump were not biting) I would like to venture further up the coast and try my luck at some new spots.

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated

I normally look for the wife "hostile" places!

That way my cellphone's battery is guaranteed to die just as I get there, ensuring peace and quiet for a couple of hours.

Wife "Hostile" places cool when wife not with....  if she is with the she becomes like the place ....Hostile!

When scoping out new spots... usually take her with as you never know who might be waiting for you when you get there.  Once we checked it out all good to go alone.
