dowerglen dam(edenvale)

hi guys was at the triangulare dam today lots of activity fish eating of the top of the water until about 10 but only two runs the hole day one on Crab snapped the line when fighting and second a small bass on ice white fluke never hooked him properly guys if you can go in a group and get there early im sure you will get some big boys out of this dam my problem is i don't know how to jig on the water surface busy looking into it

I started looking for platties about 3 months ago, I was given numbers to phone but if the seller did not know you he always said he had no stock. It was all under-cover for a while with meeting places where platties for cash were exchanged. I expected the "plattie police" to jump out of the bushes at any minute. Fishing shops say that because of the ban the platties are now endangered as people stopped breeding them for retail. How true this is I don't know but it sounds that there could be some truth in this.
Does anybody know what the fine is? Has anyone ever been fined? Are the "plattie police" doing their jobs? lol

hey bronxie, any luck this weekend?
i went to go have a look at the dam yesterday and it's not the best looking place to fish in the world, plus it is a very long walk down to the water, too far to carry all ones gear. also it might just be me, but i did not feel very safe there...
i think that they should open up or put in a gate to allow cars through.
i ended up going to a little quarry dam in kempton park called Marwan Dam. for what it is and where it is located, its a very nice place to be. didn't catch anything but you can see the barbel and carp swimming around laughing at you... it's probably a summer or overnight dam.
anyway, wouldn't mind wetting a line at dowerglen but not alone...

hi guys
i had like 30 min so i popped into dowerglen
i hooked up two bass and lost both of them, one was about 1.5 kg and the other about 1kg
i saw some of them starting to spawn
i also saw a nice big "NO FISHING SIGN" which i ignored
but there are tons of bass there and they hungry....
but what about this sign????
