Heard good things about them Reefs... but I've never handled one so can't comment on them... But they seem to have a good following and some impressive catches...
200G is a fairly light Jigging stick... and with a max drag rating of 12 kilos meaning you'd be fishing 8 to 10 kilo max....
Perfect PE 4 to 6 rod, and fishing PE at a push, but I would stick wth PE 6 max... Perfect for most of our conditions here, and would be an awesome Yellowtail,Sankora and general jigging with 100 to 250 gram jigs at a push....
What length are the ones you seeing?

I got the 8.3f PE 6-8 heavy... Only this is it detaches at the but section so that leaves you with a 6f piece of rod and it comes with a rod cover...so you need to get your own tube. So it will not be the easiest to travel with....
Other than that...it feels good...just need to test it now!:spite

Hoods - Thats the popping stick then, DEFINTELY not the jigging stick... waaaay too long for jigging... Sounds like a great stick though, hope it sees plenty of big GT action in your hands buddy!
Just get some PVC piping and make up your own rod tube...
I fit about 6 rods in mine, and its only about 6 inches in diametre....

Those Jigwrex rods are the bomb,Wesley Rapson fished with one for Tarpon,coupled with a Stella 20k,pulled the fish faster than with 50lbs standup gear and tiagras.Sweet looking aswell.Have any of you had problems with speedmaster sticks?

I've recently seen a trend of guys converting back to the Overhead method, just for ease of use and for the increased line capacity?? Dunno... I'm still not sure though... weighing things up.... That has been my preference with my TRQ300 on the Beastmaster jigging rod. I have loaded it up with Ande PE8 so now another month before it gets wet.. A LOT of guys are doing that - overhead on jigging, and spinning reel for popping.
Yes, I saw that on last nights episode. It does make sense though - think about it, you are retrieving a big popper fast towards the boat and a BEEEEEEEEG GT smashes it!!! It will normally be a visible take! Lucky not to have the rod ripped out of your hands due to some stretch in the nylon. Braid would be more tricky as there is no stretch........(so my logic says anyway - which is why on the Spheros I have around 50M nylon on top of the 50lb PowerPro - a bit more forgiving).
Jigging is the opposite, you need good contact with the jig to set the assist hook on the take, and you need to winch the fish up vertically which is why the jigging rod is a lot shorter, has a softer tip, but much stronger butt section.

Register on the site and go to their forums, there are guys there who use the Saltist for jigging and swear by it!!!! Sounds like a good match.

Reefs - I wouldn't sick a overhead on that Monster Mesh.... It would be wasted.... that rod is designed and built around a spinning reel set up... the guides will be wrongly placed for an overhead, and you'll get blank slap or worse on a fish....
Put the spinning reel on there, and stick an overhead on your Exage is you must, but you are more likely to fish HEAVY drags on the Jig set up, and if you stick an overhead on there, you risk breakage, as well as you rob yourself the experience of a truly magical set up, fishing with is as it was designed...
Overhead jigging set ups are still very much a personal preference, and almost a trend in some areas.... NZ guys are almost all overheads... Taiwan - overheads, Japan - Spinners... US East Coast - Spinners, US West Coat - Overheads...etc etc... Of course there is always guys who go against the grain, but so be it....
RB - You'll see guys like Kilsong and such from 360 and deepjigging often use long 7 to 8ft rods and regular overheads like Toriums/Saltists etc to target tuna on gigs... this is when they are fishing off big boats, and using diamond jigs and yo-yo jigging rather than mechanical jigging.... they also then fight the fish "crossways" with the handle under the right arm, AND reeling with the right hand....
I'm all kitted out right now with 3 Stellas ( 6k, 8k and 20k ) and Light jigging, heavy jigging and heavy popping, but my next set up may just be an overhead light jigging set up... something along the lines of a Jigging Master Powerspell 150 or 200, matched to Accurate 197 with PE 3 or 4 ... perfect inshore set up, and fun as hell.... But I gotta start saving first....
