Sunday is a big kreef day for me.... will be all over the peninsula looking for buggs..
Gonna start at melkbos & move down to bakoven - then around to kommetjie - soetwater.. but the vis might be better on the other side... maby millers... will see closer to the time..

With the wind turning on saturday im not to sure ...

But will definitely be in the water..:sc:::

Bakoven is reserve for crayfish, starts at Melkbos and runs to Hout Bay.

I doubt Melkbos will be diveable with all the water thats come out at Milnerton this week.

Do you think Rooi Els will be okay to dive this weekend?. They are talking about 5m swell coming through later this week.

there's alot of swell... but it's down to 3m on sunday...with a SE wind... Rooi els can be protected...atleast it'll be more protected than west coast or kommetjie/soetwater area... so i think it;s the best bet

If southeaster starts to blow on saturday, there might even be some clear water spots at the "rondeklippe" just past koelbay before you head up towards rooiels,we spear often along this section of coastline,i have seen some good size crays just waiting to be picked in this area, be on the lookout for the SAPS PATROL BOAT,we been buzzed by them about 4 weeks ago, they parked off about 400m from us and launched a duck to come and inspect our reason for being in the water, weird qeustions were asked by them, they wanted to know wo we were working for and what we were doing in the water,i had to explain to them what recreational spearfishing was,and that it was totally legal for us to be there, our permits were in the vehicles and that were busy hunting fish, anyway it was kind of nice to see the guys out on the water doing their job, just a pity they not patrolling Arniston when the local poachers come in with their duck in open day time.

Just to give a heads up to all the table view and melkbos divers - if it is the case that we can only get our permits on sunday the head down to seaside village at big bay the one where the spur is, the post office there is open on sundays so you will be able to find an open post office to get your permits for the season and if any of the other guys where ever you are in cape town need to dive desperately for a cray then you know now where to get a permit from on sunday

regards

Weird - I got mine a couple of weeks ago at the Bredasdorp PO and had no hassles. Paid R85 for the crayfish permit.

You most probably won’t be that keen to drive all the way through to Bredasdorp but maybe try a few of the other post offices in the CT area.
