If you take a drive along the mountain on your way to Hangklip,  thiers lots of holes that you can try and believe me every one of them has fish, the only thing thats different is the size. But you must be able to climb a lolng way down to the water, but its worth the effort.

Hi Chaps,
Im new to Sealine and because of that im like a child on Christmas day running around openning all the presents (forums) and leaving my 2 cents worth.

My question is "why dont guys target Kob and elf with artificial lures here in the cape" from the beach and rocks? is it a distance thing or what?

Cheers

some of us have tried. i guess when the kob r on the run at kalk bay, it would be very worth it to switch to ds.

the strand reefs should not be over-looked. if guys can catch lleries on fly, ds should do the trick. dont give up, wish we had some fo the kingie species here in the cape !!

myself and a couple of mates ,has got fish on lures from the surf in falsbay  , all on Rapala and Havocs , i dont bother with the elf.

Its nice cos you only need , leader , swiwels , pliers and no more that 3 or four lures !

we do a lot of saltwater lure angling from the surf , its the best , and in my opinion , since the closure of beach driving , packing light sure has its advantages , and some place we have fished the fishing is ON like never before !!!!

one can try to get those sandies and gurnits in langebaan ?

or maybe some Elf at GB or HI harour walls !:wfish

You can try for leeries at Sand vlei!
the vlei is full of that horrble grass , i suggest poppers and small plugs , other wise you just gonna catch grass , but its worth a try , you can rig your dropshot texas style and skin hook the hook point , I KNOW ALISTAR GRAHAM CAUGHT A HUGE LEERIE IN THE VLEI ON A ZZOM FLUKE RIGGED TEXAS STYLE , THE PIC IS ON SEALINE SOME WHERE !

I caught plenty of white stump earlier this year on the dropshot (Cammo worms) in saldanha harbor, from the jetty next to the slipway, had a whale of a time!!

hey

I would always give Sandvlei a bash, fairly difficult fishing with the weeds around, but if you know some spots where the channels run, it always makes it easier, pm m for more info..

will post to leerie pics
